Junnosuke in Wonderland - Chapter Two
After a long time of not doing anything, I finally typed out the second chapter of Junnosuke in Wonderland.
Chapter Two
Inside the Black Rabbit's Hole
As Junnosuke fell down the rabit hole, he noticed the scenary beginning to change. The surrounding walls, which should've been dirt, began to look more like bricks, and as he went down further, pictures and clocks were mounted on the dirt-brick wall. He saw pictures of carrots, picturse of celery, and pictures of tomatoes. Whoever decorated this place must reall like vegetables, Junnosuke thought to himself.
A few more strange things later, Junnosuke finally felt solid ground beneath this feet. "What an experience!" Junnosuke remarked to himself. "Where is this place? This can't possible be inside the rabbit hole."
He took a few steps forward and noticed that the black rabbit was there! He was in front of a door, eagerly digging through his belongings. "Where is that key?" the black rabbit asked, of course to himself. In a few short seconds, the black rabbit yelled in success," I found it!" He stuck the key into the keyhole, turned it, grabbed the doorknob, opened the door, walked through it, and closed it. The key, however, was gone.
Junnosuke, eager to follow the rabbit since he didn't know where else to to go, walked over to the door and tried to open it, but it was lock. "What happened to that key that the rabbit just had?" Junnosuke asked in confusion.
"It hid itself, of course," replied a voice from somewhere.
The sudden voice made Junnosuke jump. "Who's there? Show yourself!"
"You're being silly. Haven't you ever seen a talking doorknob before?"
"A talking doorknob?" Junnosuke grew even more puzzled and started to examine the doorknob of the door that he was trying to go through. Sure enough, the doorknob now had eyes. The keyhole where the key once was was now moving, acting as a mouth for the enchanted doorknob. "What's going on!?" Junnosuke blurted out at the doorknob.
"Calm down, calm down. I can help you to get through," said the doorknob, in hopes that Junnosuke wouldn't scream again.
"Really? You can?"
"Yes, of course. You do realise that you're talkign to the door himself, don't you?"
"So, you're going to open up for me?"
"Are you kidding!? I can't open myself. But, you can go through the keyhole."
Junnosuke walked closer to the door and stared at the keyhole. He stood there and thought to himself for a while. How can I go through a keyhole? I'm three times as big as it is, and last I remembered, it's kind of impossible to shrink yourself...
"I know what you're thining, " said the doorknob while Junnosuke was standing there. "You're wondering if you'd be able to fit through the keyhole. The answer is, no. But, there is something that will be able to make you srhink. See that table over there, in the center of the room? There are two bottles on top of it. One of them is the correct medicine for you to shrink down to an acceptable size."
Junnosuke never noticed a table in teh middle of the room before, but it was there now. He walked over to it and carefully examined the two bottles. He wasn't sure which one was the correct one for him to take so he randomly picked one of the two. The bottle that he held in his hand was red and had the word "Grandier" in large white letters across it. 'What language is this?' he wondered. He uncorcked the bottle and brough it to his nose. The edge of his nose lightly touched the rim of the bottle, and he took a big wiff of whatever was inside it. It smelled sweet, as if it were made of pure sugar. He moved the bottle from his nose to his mouth and began to til his head back, along with the bottle. As soon as the liquid touched his lips, he felt a wonderful sensation of sweetness all over his body... and he beagn to grow.
He grew furociously fast, and he didn't stop growing until his head bumped on the ceiling. "What happend?"
You drank the wrong drink!" yelled the doorknob at the top of his lungs.
"Arg! This isn't right! How does the bottle expect me to know what it says when it's in some language I don't know!?"
"Now, now. If you keep yelling like that, you're going to make me go deaf."
"You don't have ears!" Junonsuke's right foot was right next to the doro. He shifted it over a little and started to kick the door violently. "Why can't you just open up! Open up now!"
The doorknob was able to spit out to Junnosuke between kicks, "Why... won't... you... just... drink... the... OTHER BOTTLE!?"
Once Junnosuke heardthis, he stopped kicking the door and looked down at the table, that was now shorter than he was. He picked up the other bottle. this one was blue and had large white letters printed across it that read "Rapetisser". He uncorked the bottle and quickly swallowed the contents of it. This bottle wasn't sweet like the last. It tasted more like a vegetable drink, and was quite bitter. As soon as he drank all the liquid in the bottle, he began to shrink down to the size of a mouse. When he was done shrinking, he looked onward, straight at the door.
"I believe you are of good size now. You may pass."
The door's keyhole-mouth opened as wide as it could get, and Junnosuke started on his way through...
