so. i'm here in richmond virginia.
the flight here wasn't so bad.
the plane that was supposed to leave before us had a part drop out the plane and they had to push the plane back out to repair it. it wasn't ours but that didn't make it any more comforting. but ours got off the ground and landed in dallas. well dallas was a hoot and a half when we played musical gates, first at A3, then at A26, then B5, then finally D28. now dallas is one of those ridiculously big airports so this went really well. ahur hur. but we got here. in richmond. an hour late.
now what pisses me off about stupid american airlines? not only do they now charge for checked-in bags, they also charge you for snacks. $4 for a bag of peanuts. fucking peanuts! good thing i had my own food with me. and apparently the only place that doesn't jack their prices up is subway. so i had at least something to eat yesterday.
today wasn't bad either. i found that the bridal shower was today, not friday. so i got to see julie & justin's house (which is really nice) and meet the people they work with on the rescue squad. it was a surprise bridal shower, which was even more enjoyable. mom got julie bridal thongs (they had "newly wed" and "bride" and such on them in shiny gold text XD) which is very typical of mum. we played bridal shower games, which were pretty fun, like what's inside your purse? XD
the hotel here is pretty weird. the towels are scratchy, they have no complimentary breakfast, there's no fridge or microwave, and the water pressure in the shower is way too high. ugh. for a sheraton, it's pretty shitty D:
at least the beds are comfy.
