part i.
Character name: Kay
Fandom: World of Darkness (Gehenna Chronicle)
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): Dhampir
Character powers:
  1. Auspex: Lyla has enough points in Auspex to be able to heighten one sense at a time to superhuman levels, learn things about people by examining their auras, learn details about an artist's mind from a piece of art they have made, and learn something about an object and its owner from the "resonance" it leaves behind.
  2. Dementation: Three points in this discipline allows Lyla to amplify or dull emotions present in a victim, inflict maddening visions on a victim, and gain insight into the world around her through seemingly random patterns. This gifts her with some talent in reading signs and auguring, should she ever give it a go.
  3. Obsfucate: Two points in this discipline permit Lyla to remain hidden in shadow as long as she does not do anything to attract attention to herself and remains silent. It's awesome for sneaking up on people, but is commonly employed when Lyla is in trouble and in hiding.
  4. Ogham: Lyla, like Lilith before her, is able to practice magic; however, she is almost completely uneducated in the arts, and is only capable of using Ogham, an ancient discipline originated by the Lhiannon clan. She has five points in Ogham, permitting her to awaken plant life to work in her defense ("consecrate the grove"), inscribing runes on herself that give her power over the Beast ("crimson woad"), inscribing a victim's name on her body which curses them when they see it ("inscribe the curse"), binding herself to the spirit of the moon and sun, and drinking the magical power of a mystical site of energy.
  5. Potence: Three points in this discipline give Lyla the ability to channel much greater strength, especially in moments of heightened emotion, such as fear and rage--this is the trick she's found most handy, over the years. She has slightly increased speed as well, but this is not tied to her emotional state.
  6. Resistance: Lyla cannot be dominated by mental command or hypnotism; Lilith's blood grants her a means of bypassing generational hierarchy.
  7. Oracular ability: Lyla's most annoying power (if you ask her) manifests as either speaking in tongues, accompanied by visions, or seizure-like fits, accompanied by visions. She goes into fugue states when these occur, and will frequently end up somewhere unfamiliar with no memory of how she got there in the first place.
  8. Dhampir: Lyla is half-vampire, albeit one who is more comfortable with humans. She does not need to drink blood, but she is capable of doing so, and does have a blood pool from which she can expend points to try to heal herself if she is badly injured, though her young age and inexperience mean this is a small pool and if she suffers a mortal wound in which death is instantaneous, she's just...dead. Like anyone else. She is also prone to vampiric frenzy in extreme fight-or-flight situations.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hynotism, or suggestion? It is entirely possible, though of course discussion beforehand must occur. The character would have to be exceptionally powerful.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. Yes, but only surface thoughts. Her mind is a little feral-feeling, with hints of the vampiric Beast, but it's also very like a teenaged girl's and not terribly 'dark', perhaps surprisingly.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? For the most part, yes.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? Yes; usually she's amiable enough but also pretty wary. I will denote any changes in narration.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? Big chunks of her history being mentioned would have to be arranged beforehand due to the severity of her reaction. Her abuse history, for example, should not be mentioned unless it's specifically planned out.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? Her manner of dress, which is kinda gothy, in the sense that she wears a lot of black and chains and the like. Combat boots, short shorts/miniskirts, heavy eyeshadow, loose tank tops.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? She is difficult to impact via conventional illnesses or poisons because she has an improved dhampire body, but it's possible.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, etcetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. She's a dhampire, but mostly seems like a human, just...improved in a lot of ways.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? Feeding on her would be diablerie, I think, and thus is not something that should come up. >_> She does eat her own, though.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? Physical mimicry, yes; ability mimicry, no.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? Like she's something huge and fucked-up that is building--she's the adoptive daughter and avatar of Lilith, as in the Biblical Lilith, who is also a deity in her world. And ending said world. So.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yes.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Yes.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? Wrath is the big one, followed by pride.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Yes--this is one of her canonical abilities.

part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional. No, please.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? Yes, provided the thread isn't filtered/locked. If it's a fraught conversation asking beforehand might be good, but I'll usually say yes.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? If by some miracle of God I get a canonmate: sure!
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? UMM, there's nothing I'm completely against seeing, but racism can be an upsetting topic for me, and if I am uncomfortable, I will say something--it's not personal.
5. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? NEEDS MORE PONIES, SELF
