I totally understand with the fandom burnout! After my laptop crashed last year I basically dropped out of Arashi fandom for like eight months, during which I only had vague secondhand reports to read. And that was when I realized that fandom was taking over far too much of my life, so I had to back off for my own sake. XD;;
I also concur with your faith in them! They're the real thing, dolled up by management and marketing to suit the influx of money. I'll miss their 'indie' days too and I'll be distantly concerned about the pressure but YES to the fact that they will be okay. When the fervour dies down a little and they get more room to breathe again, here's to hope that they'll return to the more innovative/closer-to-heart programming that they had.
And I've heard multiple times that Aiba's mother is really good-looking! Aiba has always been simply gorgeous to me, so I am unsurprised to hear that too. I bet he developed his personality and outlook in life due to no small part of her influence, which just makes her awesome in my books XD How was the food?
I don't even know what's going on with DBSK/TVXQ/JYJ/??? anymore. I was a casual fan back during their Rising Sun days (catchy music! Appreciable vocals and harmony! sharp dancing! Sexy bodies and pretty faces! Why yes I am shallow), but now I try not to think too hard about them. So it's interesting to read your account of what's going on with the lawsuits and management and etc.
It does make sense that Avex would want to cut ties with them before too much business is lost. The peak of DVD and CD sales really can't last, if it's fuelled by so much bad press. And with the CJeS mess going on, it's just spelling more and more trouble and that's just not good for long-term investment. And I also appreciate that you're giving Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun some credit for the decision-making process, even if it means that they shoulder some of the blame of the current sitation, because I too like to think that they have some say in what happens to them now. Of course no one really knows what's going on but some common sense can hopefully bridge that void of information.

anyway, in response to your query about the food at Aiba's restaurant, it was just normal Japanese Chinese food lol. Not great but not bad either lol. Very NOT memorable haha. All in all it was fun for me but I wasn't freaking out and being like OMG i am in Aiba's house. I think if it were Ohno I would have been going insane from the joy. My level of love for Ohno and the rest of Arashi are not really on the same scale.
