http://www.politicalcompass.org/I had done this a while ago, but it's interesting to do it again.
Economic Left/Right: -6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.38
Apparently, I'm even more on the left than the NDP. I thought they would be much more than that. I'm about at the same place on the chart than Nelson Mandela. Just a tad less Libertarian than him. Interesting to see that the Liberals aren't even on the Libertarian side. Lots of people seem to think left and right is about social issues like gay marriages and abortion. But left and right is mostly economic issues. Although, lately, I think there's been a slight shift in meaning. On economic issues, I've always been on the very left side. On social issues, I'm quite borderline.
Well, Canada now has a right wing (in both social and economical sense) government. And considering how much on the left I am, it's easy to know how thrill I am about that. /sarcasm I think that corrupted Liberals didn't have the right to lead this country another time and I'm glad people realised that. But it's also time people realise that they have more than 2 options. This isn't a dualist political system and I'm glad about it. I'm also a bit confused by the fact that Québec has turned Conservative. My father must have swear a lot yesterday night!
