I need help.

Well, "help." I need to stop writing WAFFY Future RPG fic that has no real basis in any canonical reality. BUT RISHI WONT LET ME BECAUSE HE TROLLS ME!

LIKE HE LINKS ME SHIT LIKE THIS:

AND THIS:

AND THEN I HAVE FEELS! AND JAMIE STARTS BABBLING IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD AND THEN THIS HAPPENS!

-------------------

In theory, the idea was great: dress the girls in kimonos, shuttle them down to the botanical gardens, and take some portrait pictures. Reality, however, was far different.

They looked lovely; Josie in a flowery purple kimono to match Okaasan’s eyes, and little Keiko in a vibrant jade green one that he couldn’t help but chuckle at. Rei, for her part, looked spectacular in a red furisode. At a glance one would say they were picture perfect, the girls like tiny replicas of their mother.

Appearances were deceiving, because however much they looked like their mother; they were, without doubt, their father’s daughters. The girls raced around, Josie out running her little sister to the gazebo near the pond. Jamie kept a closer eye of them, Rei strolling behind, enjoying the flowers.

“Matte!” Keiko cried, hiking up the skirts of kimono.

“Isoide, baka!” The elder girl yelled over her shoulder.

“Josephine! Koko ni kite.” Jamie waved his hand at the nine year old girl. She scrunched her face before backtracking, stopping in front of her father.

Jamie sat down his camera bag and kneeled on the grass, looking his daughter in the eye. “Why did you call your sister a baka?”

“She can‘t keep up, it‘s not my fault!” Josie pouted, crossing her arms over chest for good measure.

“So you call her names?”

“Okaasan calls you baka!”

Jamie bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing. Really, it wasn’t funny. “That is not the same.”

Josie straightened up, affecting a commanding pose like her mother. “Why not?” she challenged.

“Because your Papa deserves it; your sister doesn’t.” Jamie turned his head to look up at his wife; her face was perfectly composed, all business, her attention on the sniffling six year old holding her hand.

“Thank you, sweetheart.” She quirked one eyebrow at him, teasing, then she focused back on Josie.

“Apologize to your sister,” Rei said, voice brooking no arguments.

“I’m sorry; you’re not a baka.” Josie let out a deep breath. Keiko seemed pleased enough with this, and launched herself at her sister. Yuna returned the hug, before letting go of her sister and grabbing her hand. “Come on, let’s go see if the ducks are there!”

Together, they raced off toward the pond, their parents strolling behind. “They always listen to you,” Jamie groused.

“They’re good girls.” Rei bumped her shoulder against Jamie’s.

“They’re hellions.”

“They’re like you then?”

“Ha, ha. Cute.” Jamie made a sour face.

Rei laughed, laced her fingers with his, and looked at the girls playing at the edge of the pond. “Would you prefer they had more my temperament and your looks?”

“Of course I would. If they looked like me then I wouldn’t have to worry about boys being interested in them.”

She looked at him, brows furrowed. “Boys aren’t interested in them.”

“Yet,” he stressed. “All too soon Josie will come home prattling on about this cute boy she’s just met. Hey!“ Jamie looked down at Rei excitedly. “ Can we send them a convent now?”

“No convents.” She stopped and slapped his arm. “Yes, one day she will come and tell us all about this strange young man who followed her around the fish market, and wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

“See, my point exactly! Some creep could end up accosting my baby!”

“You do realize that’s what you did to me the first time we met, right?”

“But I wasn’t a creep?” He forced a toothy grin.

“You were at the time.”

Jamie found himself utterly defeated, but was saved from attempting any sort of come back when Keiko ran up her mother, pulling on one long sleeve gently.

“Okaasan did you bring food for the ducks?”

“I did, come on.” She took her daughter’s hand, leading her back to the pond.

“Right then. I’ll just set up the thing, over here. Like a creep.” Jamie jerked his thumb over his shoulder, watching their retreating backs. He turned toward the gazebo, Rei’s laughter floating after him.

“Jamie?” He glanced up from the camera in his hand, fiddling with the new memory card.

“Yeah?”

“Did you tell them they could play with the camera?” Rei nodded behind him.

He turned to find Josie and Keiko playing with the tripod, Keiko peeking through the viewfinder, Josie on the side making a fish face. He smiled. “No, it’s fine though.”

Rei didn‘t sound convinced. “You’re sure? Remember what happened last time?”

“That one is stationary, I’ll start to worry if they take it off the tripod.” He clicked the memory card into place, and turned back to Rei with a grin, lifting the camera up to his face.

She scowled. “Always with the camera in my face?”

“Not my fault I’m inspired to take pictures of pretty things.” He grinned, snapping the shot. Rei rolled her eyes.

“Otosan?” Jamie froze, eyes widening as he looked at Rei. Otosan meant something bad. Usually very bad. He turned slowly, camera half raised, and looked down at Keiko.

“Yeah, ragamuffin?”

“I think I broke it.” She held the camera that had been attached to the tripod in both hands, her lower lip trembling dangerously. “It stopped clicking.”

Sighing, Jamie handed off his camera to Rei and crouched next to the nearly crying child. He gently took black camera from her tiny hands, and started inspecting it. After a moment he lifted it up, focusing on his daughter, and took a picture.

“See, good as new.” He paused, frowning. “But the picture isn’t good, can‘t have any tears.” He scooped her up as he stood, pressed his face against her neck and blew until she was wiggling and giggling.

He let her slide down to the ground, giving her a gentle pat on the back. “Go stand with Okaasan.” He turned to find Josie had crept up behind him, he smiled down at her. “You too, urchin.”

Jamie retrieved the second camera from Rei along with a stolen kiss, and made his way to the tripod, getting the stationary camera in place. One he was happy with position, he set it in a timer, the automatic clicks coming every few seconds.

He took a few shots at different angles with the handheld, annoying Rei more and more with each click of the camera.

“I thought this was a family portrait?” She arched an eyebrow when he stopped for a moment.

“It is, just want my girls first.”

“Jamie…” she warned.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m coming.” He placed his handheld into the camera bag, peeked through the viewfind on the stationary camera once more, and went to stand next to Rei for what would hopefully be a nice picture.

***

Upon their arrival home, the girls quickly shed their kimonos with their mother’s help; she was methodical as she undid the obi, folding it neatly. Josie was patient enough, standing still for her mother, but Keiko fidgeted impatiently.

Jamie knew far better than to interfere or get in the way, or accidentally egg on the girls. So he disappeared into his office, wanting to start sorting the pictures. He quickly scanned over them after he’d loaded them onto his computer.

He felt more than heard Rei in the doorway, her bare feet quiet as she padded into the room. She ran her hands over his shoulders and down his chest, hugging him as she leaned her cheek against his.

“Zoe just picked up the girls for dinner.”

“And she didn’t say hello to me? So rude.”

“She’s taking the girls for a couple hours, she can be as rude as she likes. Did they turn out?” Rei nodded at the screen.

“I think so. The ones with you and the girls are great. But this one,” he shuffled through the photos on the screen before bringing it up to full view, “is my favorite.”

The picture was a snapshot capturing a moment of mild chaos. A butterfly had landed on the railing of the gazebo, which had fascinated Keiko, so she jumped down two steps to inspect it closer. The picture had caught her mid jump, eyes fixed on the brightly colored insect. Josie was watching her sister in surprise, eyes wide and already starting to giggle. Behind them, Jamie could be seen whispering into Rei’s ear, grinning widely. For her part Rei looked only vaguely scandalized, her elbow jabbing into her husband’s stomach.

“Kono hentai,“ she said softly, repeating her words from earlier.

He leaned away, hands spread, blinking innocently. “All I said was that you looked nice in your kimono.”

“Yes, those were your exact words.” She rolled her eyes.

“And I offered to help you out of it! I was being a nice husband!”

Rei hummed at him, in that tone that meant she wasn’t exactly annoyed, but not wholly pleased either. She gently slapped his arm and headed toward the door.

“Well?” she stopped, one hand on the frame and a brow quirked.

“What’s that, sweetheart?” Jamie swiveled around in his chair, grinning.

“Does your offer not still stand? If that’s the case,” she shrugged and turned around. “I suppose I can manage getting out of the kimono on my own….” she trailed off, lifting her shoulder again. Jamie made no reply as he lunged out of his chair, grabbing her around the waist.

A/N: While most of this is just crap I come up with, I DO LIKE TO IMAGINE THAT ONE DAY JAMIE WOULD LEARN JAPANESE. And I also figure if they do have kids, those kids would be bilingual because why not? So yeah.

Also I named them Josephine "Josie" after Jamie's grandmother whom he was extremely close with (this is Sandy's fault) and Keiko after Rei's PB (this is Rishi's fault).

Japanese in order (roughly -- I think? I DON'T KNOW, GOOGLE SAID SO!)

Wait
Hurry up, baka (like if you don't know baka then I don't know what to do with you).
Come over here (meant in a more firm way, from what I can tell).
You pervert (which we all know he is).

waff, jamie, jadeite, rpg, crack, rei
