The Brothers Quay
I went a picked up a DVD of a compliations of these stop animators work. I think they are from out of England, if I'm correct. The imagery in these videos are similar to what's in the first couple of Tool music videos made by Fred Stuhr. They are creepy, with really broken down audio like some of the riffs off the Fragile or something. The visual style is very surreal, broken rugged puppets/dolls, almost a carnival feel with stairways winding off into different directions. It's like looking at the world through a pane of dirty glass.
