I really wish i had more time to update here. But I've decided not to get SBC's services of DSL, TV and phone... because they are bastards. I hear i can get wireless from the business center's wireless signal at the clubhouse at my apartment... however they are still remodeling after their fire before i moved in. So, that is my lack of entertainment situation. I really don't mind not having a TV, because i'm rarely home to enjoy it anyway. If i want to watch TV i can just go to my neighbors' apartments'.

Did i mention that I live in "Melrose Place?" My entire building hangs out every night, cooks together, and half sleep together. And i'm not overexagerating. Its like living in the dorms again, only everyone is divorced 20 to 30 somethings living like they are 21 again. I actually kind of like it. Somehow i fit right in. Here are some pictures of my apartment place: http://www.victorianquartersapartments.com/photos.asp

One of my neighbors invited me to the Colonial, which is this pro golf tournament (i had no idea), to gawk at 'hot guys.' She ended up picking up these two old chaches that we ended up ditching. It was slightly entertaining, and we got 2 free margaritas out of it.

I love my job. I work all the time, except mondays, but I still love what I do. I work with great people who care about their jobs, and I'm learning so much from my direct boss. The strangest part of everything is how much power I have. As the Assistant Clubhouse Manager, I'm pretty much everyone's boss except my boss and the general manager. I love it! I just had the catering manager retire, so now i'm going to have to take on her job as well. Its really a good thing, because she was old and didn't like our new ways of managing. I think I may ask for more money, these two jobs are a huge responsibility.

One of the guys in the golf shop asked me out. I don't think he realizes i'm his boss yet. Super weird. But since I got here I got asked out 3 times. This is vvvvvery weird for me. Texas guys are very 'ballsy.' In Michigan, I don't think I was "asked out" in a year. Well, i think there was one guy around valentines day... but still... I can't get used to that.

OH and the chivilry! Oy Vey! I am still very awkward walking through doors, and having guys pay for me. I can't be myself, and open a door, or hold a door for a guy or anything. It's supposidly insulting when I do that. but the WORST part is being called "mam" Ughh! I hate my staff saying "yes mam" all the time. I have to start saying it though. If I don't, I look very rude.

I really feel like I have started a completely new chapter in my life. I haven't been homesick just yet. I have felt so welcome here, its unbelieveable. People really are nicer in the south. I have a great friends and co-workers already. I barely have any time to myself because when i'm not working, i'm out with friends. Thats quite an acomplishment for only being here less than a month.

Speaking of southern old people (yeah, i know it wasn't previously mentioned) but i witnessed my first ultra racist old man. He was trying to be very nice to me, and keep pleasant conversation. He was talking about what he knew about Detroit, and then rambled off EVERY racial slur I could possibly think of. He even looked at my name tag and said "Oh, and you must be a nice pollock" And keeping a great customer service smile, i nodded to him and said 'actually its ukrainian" that F*ing redneck.

Anyway... sorry to those I have not called back. I miss everyone very much! Anyone is MORE than welcome if you care to visit. I can hook you up with a room to stay in, golf, tennis, maybe even a private airplane ride (i'm still waiting on my first ride... the season is coming up next week)

OOOH, I HAVE A NEW PHONE NUMBER. TEXT MY OLD CELL PHONE IF YOU WANT IT. Its Cingular. If you have verizon, don't bother to text me, I'm keeping my verizon phone to call my family and verizon friends. (Sorry such a long post)
