The Return

Hey, haven't updated in a hot minuto, so let's just take it down a bit and see just where the hell I've been in the last month and a half:

- Concerts. You guys should know me enough by now that the concert going experience is one of the high points of my nights. Since the last time I seriously updated (June 19th) I've been to quite a few. Aerosmith fucking RULED the world. I wasn't a huge fan of them before (at one point, I actually disliked them), but damn. After that show I'm a hardcore fan. LA Guns/Dokken was also good, as both bands showed me they still got it. I'm the big Dokken fan in our crew so I don't think anyone enjoyed it as much as me. Ozzfest was also in-fucking-sane. Slayer wasn't bad, despite what Fitz and Sticky will tell ya, Judas Priest was unbelievable, and Ozzy can still go even if he's totally smashed. Seeing the original Sabbath live is an experience I'll never forget and Judas Priest with Halford was something I never thought I'd see. Great show. Also saw Poison and Kiss. Okay, let me go on a rant here for one second...

It seems that I am the only real supporter of KISS in our group besides Rob Moore. And for those who don't know, a portion of our group has an extreme distaste for KISS. Now, if you don't like them as people that's one thing. I don't really like KISS as people, or Motley Crue for that matter, but I can recognize that something's that they did musically were good. It seems that when I used to piss on Crue I'd get bitched at, but for the same reasoning I won't bitch at people if you don't like my music. Hear me loud and clear: FUCK YOU GUYS! I mean I'd be really pissed if I payed $40 for that ticket but I payed $20 and I still felt pretty ripped off. As much as I wanted to see these guys try to perform, everyone was bitching about how they sucked when we only saw 2 songs. So rather than sit through the crying, I left. And it was under duress. I also think that this really made me forget about Poison, who put on a good show, but the whining and crying just ruined them for me too. When I think back, I remember leaving early, not the good show Poison put on. I'm gonna try to be a good guy and be brief with this, but if I go to a show that sucks (ala Whitesnake) I will stay if someone else wants to. Clearly everyone there saw I wanted to stay, but clearly that didn't happen.

Oh well, I'm just getting this out now, because I'll probably die later, but it did kinda cheese me off that everyone was being a total jackass about it. Last word: You didn't watch the whole show, you don't listen to their albums, so how the fuck would you know if they suck or not? Stop being fags and get the fuck over it.

Whew, that was cool. Anyway, I also saw the Misfits a week or so ago, and as usual they didn't disappoint. However, it was like an old school show with insane stage dives during the show by random people. Security was so lax at Hellfest you could probably kill someone and get away with it. Joe dang with them for a few songs and everyone else killed me by doing springboard planchas onto me in the front rows. It was cool , but was I sore the next morning. Also saw Ataris and Shadows Fall at Hellfest, but neither were really good. And finally, last week I saw VELVET REVOLVER! I touched Slash! It was amazing and I lost my glasses in the process. It was packed to the wazoo in that club too. In-fucking-sanity. Cool as hell though; they played Mr. Brownstone, Used to Love Her, and It's So Easy, as well as Slither, Fall to Pieces, Set Me Free, Sex Type Thing, and a bunch of others of the new album. Me and Fitz left one song early to beat traffic because the place was PACKED. I heard they played Surrender by Cheap Trick, as apposed to Negative Creep by Nirvana which is what thay've been playing the past month or so. But it's all good. I've missed a few shows mainly due to Bird (ie Blues Traveller, 311, W.A.S.P.) but I'll just have to make up for it.

- Since I'm kinda here already, I lost my glasses. I now have contacts, and they're a bitch to put in. But I'm getting the hang of it. I have to go back to the doctor on Monday for a follow-up, and I think I'll ask for the 2-3 day lenses. I'm too lazy to take these out every day. Plus I fall asleep by mistake half the time anyway, so it's better that way.

- Perfect Crime! played last week at the McCarnival. It showed up pretty good on tape, except for a few things here and there. Fucking A, I hope we can record next week, as is the plan, but fudge.. I dunno what will happen just yet. We did a few originals, but the majority were covers, and they came out okay considering the time frame we had to practice with. Remember, perfectcrimeproductions.com for all you perfect needs.

- Since this is band related, I got new heads put on my drums and they sound kick ass now! I just gotta get a bass head and I'm done. Then the next step is a new hi-hat, and some used Zildjian cymbals. Oh it will be sweet.

- I got some cool shirts lately at Target of all places! I went there to get some plain T's to make Perfect Crime T Shirts with ($6, buy now!) when I noticed that they had some cool stuff. Last week I got a Jack Daniel's T (which I wore at the show), a NES Controller "Know Your Roots" T, and a cool AC/DC lettered shirt that says "Listen to Rock: Pop Music Sucks". All for under $30! I went back today because it was cool, Rob was supposed to go but he had a scholarship dealy to go to. So today I was picking up a Miller High Life shirt, a cool Trans Am T, and some shorts. I was thinking how cool it would be if they actually sold band shirts there. As I'm walking out of the section, what do I see but Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and AC/DC T-shirts!! YEAH! I picked up an AC/DC one that looks pretty damn cool for $13. That store rules. I gotta see if any of the other chain stores have cool cheap shirts! Hell yeah! Later I picked up a pretty cool Black Sabbath T at (ugh) Hot Topic, alas I paid full price.

- And of course, I still purchase a million CD's a week. I must have a lot more since the last time I wrote in here. Let's see, Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell, CO&CA's first album, Blind Guardian Live, 311's Greatest Hits, Sublime's 40 oz. to Freedom, Black Sabbath, Megadeath's Cyptic Writings/Rust in Peace/Peace Sells, Fozzy's Happenstance, Van Halen's Best of Both Worlds, Tiger Army III, Bad Religion's Empire Strikes First, Hollywood Rose, and just in today Metallica's Ride the Lightning. If all goes right with the Plaid Orchid lady I could have another Queensryche album by the end of the week. Fucking A, that's a lot of music for a month. I think I need more R&B, but it's hard to find the good old stuff without having to pay $20 for the CD.

- Besides CD's, also picked up a lot of wrestling DVD's: ECW Hardcore History, Best of Cactus Jack, Best of the Dudley Boyz, Hard Knocks: The Chris Beniot Story, WWF Hardcore, Royal Rumble 01, and Wrestlemania 15. Got one of my fav Jackie Chan movies not released in America on DVD, Black Dragon (aka Miracles), and for $6 I picked up STREET FIGHTER!! I don't know where it went though... I also bought a Social Distortion DVD yesterday that I need to watch very badly.

- Birthdays. And lots of 'em, bunch o' birthdays, but only got time to explain a few. My dad's was last week, and I got him a gift bag of crazy crap: let's see, a massager, a spray fan, batteries, 2 David Byrne CD's, a Dave Brubeck CD, Blistex, and some candy. And he genuinely loved the card I got people to sign. Biggest smile I've seen on him for awhile. Laura's birthday is the only other one I can think of. I showed up as a surprise mystery guest and brought her Bad Religion, Blondie and cupcakes. It was cool, as I met a bunch of pretty cool people [and the sexy ones aka Jessica] :O hee hee I finally brought that damn cookie and it appartently ruled. Hope Eppinger lady enjoyed that stuff because I forgot to ask her. We'll see.

I think that's it for now. Fuck! I am a windbag of fun. I gotta go to work tomorrow... damnit! Let's hope I get my contacts in before 9.30... Work starts at 9.. do the math!
