FFW : 3 Days Later .
[ Corey 's POV ]
I twisted and turned under the sheets , I couldn't fucking sleep . I laid on my back , put my hands behind my head and stared up at the ceiling . Nothing was running through my mind , how in the fuck could i be awake ? i shook my head . It was impossible for me to ever stay awake unless I was in deep thought or helping Griffin on a project . I laid there for a good couple of minutes , my mind blank of wondering .
I was beginning to get frustrated from this insomnia , it was killing me . My eyes were tired , my pupils burned with ache for some rest . I sat up and groaned , I looked over at the clock on the nightstand . The red digital lights flashed , 03:47am . Jesus Christ , the last time i checked the damn clock it was bearly midnight . I put my hands over my face , groaning and cursing to myself . I thought to myself aloud , " they say milk helps a person go to sleep , ew ew , milk " . Fuck it , I got over my fear of milk . I got out of bed and stretched , I yawned loudly . I'm hoping nobody heard that , cause ' I know that yawn even scared the shit out of me for a moment .
I opened the door , took a peak out into the hallway and quickly went downstairs ,
when I got to the kitchen , it was dark but I could still see the figure of a person . A female person .
I turned on the light switch to DIM and there she was , the girl that I like maybe even love . Scarlett was sitting on one of the benches with her head laid down on the counter . It looked like she was sleeping , I saw her nose wrinkle . I smiled and silently chuckled to myself .
I grabbed myself a glass of milk , half empty . I set the empty cup in the sink , and turned to look at Scarlett's sleeping body . She looked uncomfortable sleeping in a slouching/sitting position . Maybe I should carry her to her bedroom and just set her down on the bed then quietly leave back to my room . It sounded like a nice idea in my head . I slowly picked her up into my arms bridal style , she sleepily sighed and tucked her face into the crook of my neck . I smiled from ear to ear , we got to her bedroom door . I quietly opened it with my foot , thank jesus that she hadn't closed it all the way .
I walked in and set her down on the bed slowly . She was still in her clothes , I didn't want to be disrespectful and look through her drawers for PJ's . So I simply just took off her shoes , and pulled the covers over her . I was just about to walk out the door when I heard her whisper ,
" don't leave please " she whispered . I turned back to look at her , she had her eyes closed . I'm guessing she hadn't even bothered to open her eyes to look at me . I hesitated and sighed .
" please Corey " she whispered again , this time with a little tone of exhaustion and love . My mouth was wide open , she hadn't even seen who was the one who carried her up here , but she knew it was me . I walked in and closed the door behind me , I sat down at the corner of the bed to take my slippers off . I slowly laid down next to her and put my hands behind my head . I looked at the ceiling , this felt peaceful . I felt at peace for once .
Scarlett laid her head on my chest out of the nowhere , and whispered something that shocked me .
