(no subject)
I have been meaning to post about my happenings, not that there has been a whole lot.
Towards the end of last month Aaron and I went down to LA to enjoy the TMC Classic Film Festival. The first day we went we watched The Producers (with Mel Brooks being interview questions beforehand!) at the Chinese and the we hustled over to the Egyptian and watch Casablanca (with one of the actors daughter talking beforehand). The next day we went down again and tried to catch The Graduate or Singin' in the Rain but they were sold out (we should have picked a faster food place before). We were then going to come back later and see out of circulation cartoons, so we wandered around and went to Madam Tussauds (really should have brought a camera). It was only around 8ish and since the cartoons didn't start until 10 we ended up hanging out with Kenny and Marissa instead. They showed us this pleasingly pretentious tea house and we got gelato after that.
Also at the end of last month, April 30 to May 1, Aaron and I went down to San Diego for my birthday. It was actually a birthday present from my parents. Friday we wandered around Oldtown San Diego and on Saturday we went to the Zoo (slow loris is really slow :-p). Shall have to go back to the Wild Animal Park some other time.
Jessica and I have been seeing movies at the dollar theater, She's Out of my League, The Princess and the Frog, hmmm can't think of what else. And not at the dollar theater OSS 117: Lost in Rio and Date Night.
And with everyone It's Complicated
Aaron and I went and saw MacGruber... and Kick-Ass (both letdowns), Cop Out, Up in the Air, Avatar, The Young Victoria, and Alice in Wonderland with Popi and Supeena. We also stayed home and watched Iron Man.
There was the world music festival, of course. I was not in gamelan this year, but they were awesome. I was in sanshin, which went well, though I was really really nervous. On the video we all look exceedingly serious, so we will need to work on smiling.
