Today on my walk to work I saw:
- One black dog with a white muzzle. He was nice.
- One squirrel who ran under a bush.
I didn't see anything else interesting. Nor did I walk home from walk; I was unwilling to get caught in the predicted rain. So, of course, it didn't rain. I'm walking again tomorrow, at least to work.
At the moment I am writing up a project for my Organizing Information class. It's all about how I am uploading my files to Google Documents and tagging them so that I can find them again. It's actually pretty easy and rather interesting. The nerve-racking part is admitting that I read fanfiction. And that I like some of it so much that I store it on my computer so that I can read it again. I realize this is kind of a crazy thing to do. I mean, there are so many books out there that I'll never get to, so why do I waste my time on reading fanfic?
I suppose the answer would be because I don't feel that fanfic is a waste of time. I have very high standards, and I only read the good stuff. I have no qualms about dismissing a story based on one poorly-written paragraph. The stories I read are the ones I think are likely to make an impression on me. For that reason I almost exclusively read stories based on recommendations or because I read all of an author's works. Some of the stories I've read over the years rivals any piece of fiction I've ever picked up. I think I read so ltitle modern fiction because I get a steady diet of it through fanfic. I guess that's why I read mostly classics and nonfiction.
Anyway, this project should be interesting. I wish it wasn't for the professor on whom I have a raging crush, but it's too late to change things now. I'm eager to see how my write-up turns out.
