NaNoWriMo Progress Update and Doctor Who: Water of Mars Spoilers

I so fail at this. I really do. There's no way I can finish in time. **sighs** Maybe next year will be better. Or, I just might set my own goal next month and say I need to write this much. Also, every night when I open my story up and start to write, I get very sleepy. I don't know why, and it gets very frustrating.

On a side note: Doctor Who: Water of Mars = awesomeness!

It's fantasically awesome in regards to the Doctor's character developement. The events that happened in this episode are supposed to be a fix point in time and that he can't change anything that happens. He's trying not to involve himself with the Mars Base people because it'll be just like Pompeii with Donna (where accidently makes it happened because he tried to help). He even says as much to the leader when he tells her he has to leave and can't be a part of these events nor would he help them. I just love that he leaves them to deal with the monsters/virus-infected crew members, and all he could hear over the comm is the anguish, pain, and terror of the non-infected crew members. And he decides that he just can't walk away and let things happen. He's a Time Lord...the last Time Lord. And since he is the last, he won't obey the laws of time anymore but work them to his will. I just love that speech he gives. It's just so awesome. I just wanted to give him a hug because I just knew it would all backfire on him. And it did. He saves the people and the leader lady is just angry with him for messing up the timeline. The Doctor had told her that she was suppose to die and he couldn't save her since her death was a fixed point. She knows this, and that her death was suppose to inspire her granddaughter and future generations to expore and advance the human race. Love that she told the Doctor that he can't just change history like that, and that he doesn't have the right to do so. The Doctor was so proud that he saved their lives that he couldn't see that the leader lady was planning to do when she went home: she killed herself so that history would be "right" again. Oh, the look on the Doctor's face when he realized what she did. He looked so hopeless and lost, and realized that he screwed it up majorly. I don't know what the Doctor's feelings are about suicide, but he made a choice to save that woman and it forced her to take her own life. That has to hit him every hard, no matter his feelings about suicides.

All of this awesomeness happens towards the end of the episode, so the ending was great. As for the rest of the special, well, it was good. I wish the Doctor was more active in it, but that would defeat the whole point of the special and the ending so . . . **shrugs** What can I say? It's a must see just for his "I'm the last Time Lord" speech!

Oh, I almost forgot! I'll be having a few Doctor Who art posted soon. momentmusical had this fantastic fic with the most sad ending and it inspired me to draw it. I have two different versions of it, and I just need to scan the second one.
