Family History: Three immediate relatives; mother, father, elder brother (by five years). The family is of Chinese background, hence the Chinese family name, and has a very large network of extended relatives throughout Asia. The Li clan is apparently very strict with its children, who uniformly perform outstandingly in academics and later life. Sean's family is not an exception to this rule; the elder brother was considered a prodigy and Sean consistently ranked at the top of his high school's testing scores. Both parents are highly educated.

Life History: Sean's family moved to the small town of Konoha before he was born. The family reports that Sean and his elder brother grew up in a very strict and demanding environment, but not without affection and rewards for a job well done. Sean was an open and trusting child who cared deeply about earning his parents approval and following in his brother's footsteps. According to his parents, Sean has always admired and wished to be like his brother, who excelled in everything he did and was often the recipient of praise. Sean developed more slowly than his elder brother, and may have felt inferior in comparison.

Because of the family's strict emphasis on education and academic success, Sean had few friends throughout elementary school and middle school, often electing to return home directly after school in order to study both schoolwork and work assigned to him by his parents. Records received from his teachers reveal praise for his conscientious work, but some concern that he was too quiet outside of class and growing increasingly sullen. The parents report that during middle school, Sean's attitude towards his brother seemed to shift from admiration to resentment, and he grew more withdrawn at home as well. However, his marks did not suffer and thus they were not overly concerned; after high school entrance exams, Sean could have chosen to attend any high school in the area.

He chose to attend the local school of medium quality instead, perhaps out of rebellion against family tradition. At Konoha High School, Sean continued his trend of excellent schoolwork but grew even more withdrawn. Teacher observations from this time depict a quiet boy who preferred to sit by himself in isolated areas rather than associate with his peers. Although he was good at athletics, Sean chose not to engage in any clubs or activities. Nonetheless, Sean was popular in the school due to his appearance and academic excellence. It seems Sean did not develop any appreciable connections with his classmates until a new boy transferred to the school; for some reason he engaged in frequent violent interactions with the new student, but his parents and teachers reported improved mood developed after a few months.

Towards the end of his first year in high school, however, Sean began to engage in contact with the headmaster of another school who had been attracted by Sean's excellent academic performance. This school was new and taught with methods considered experimental, but it had already developed a reputation for academic success. At around this time, Sean began to show evidence of delusions that his brother had killed their parents and that he and those around him were engaged in some kind of violent training. Soon after these delusions began, Sean decided to transfer to this new experimental school against the wishes of his parents and his teachers at Konoha High School. It appears there was also a violent episode with the transfer student previously mentioned, requiring a brief hospitalisation for both, but details of this are not clear.

Obtaining information and records about this new school has been very difficult, so it is unclear what precisely occurred during his studies with the new headmaster. The family reports that Sean's mental health quickly spiralled downwards, and his parents feared that he may have become involved in drug-related crime. Not long after he transferred, Sean's delusions reached a point where he made an attempt on his brother's life, at which point his parents through their considerable resources were able to have him sent abroad to be committed to Landel's Institute.

Medical History: Sean has no history of significant medical ailments. He is currently and by all reports has always been in excellent physical health, exercises regularly and eats healthily.

At age five, treated for measles. All other vaccinations current and up-to-date.

At age seven, had a sprained ankle braced, left no lasting damage.

Towards the middle of his first year in high school, the nurse's records at Konoha High School begin to show Sean in and out of the nurse's office with regularity, usually in conjunction with another student who had recently transferred. The injuries were generally not severe, primarily composed of bruises, light sprains, and other consequences of fighting.

Just before his departure for his new school, Sean was admitted to the hospital with a severe concussion, a mild fracture in the right humerus, heavy bruising around the jaw and torso, and numerous scrapes and cuts, some of which were deep enough to require stitching. Because of the concussion and on the insistence of his parents, he was kept overnight for observation, but was released the next day.

The family has expressed concerns about possible drug-related activity recently; if he has engaged in drug activity, it has not been for a significant enough duration to show adverse physical effects, nor has it required medical treatment. Mentally, however, any drugs he might have taken may have contributed to his dissociation from reality. Further counselling will be needed before it can be confirmed whether this is the case.

In Landel's, an unfortunate incident has led to his eyes being temporarily blinded by means of opaque sutures in place of his corneas. He appears to have adjusted to this change reasonably well over the past few weeks.

Current Status: In Landel's, Sean has made no appreciable progress. He has made no indication that he has begun to accept reality, and in therapy he is routinely rude and evasive of questioning with his doctors, often preferring to question them rather than accept normal counselling. Sean has participated in and been the instigator of a few violent episodes in the Institute and expressed no remorse for doing so. His nurse reports that he is frequently short-tempered and impossible to engage in conversation.

Working Diagnosis: A concise diagnosis has not yet been made for this patient. Previous doctors have forwarded the possibility of borderline personality. Depending on what occurred during his studies after leaving Konoha High School, the possibility of defensive psychosis and hallucinogenic drug usage aggravating pre-existing conditions for full onset is strong.
