I thought that I had maintained my hold on my ancient videocassette copy of Romeo Must Die, starring Jet Li and the late great Aaliyah, but either it has mysteriously disappeared, or, more likely, I got distracted by the taped, grainy SNL reruns on the myriad of videos lining our basement shelves. Unlike most families, we do not own many DVDs. This is partly because we didn't have a TV for a long time, and partly because we subscribe to Netflix. One might assume that our collection would therefore be distilled to only the purest and most entertaining in an intellectual way of movies, but instead we have the last two Matrix movies, Big Fish, assorted teach yourself guitar lessons, Kill Bill, and the House, Arrested Development, and Family Guy sets. Oh and some bootlegged kung fu that's not even worth watching, honestly it's so blurry and the dubbing is even more nonsensical than usual.
