Important step towards marriage equality for New Mexico couples!

Hooray! Massachusetts will marry same-sex couples from New Mexico, in addition to Rhode Island. (This one slipped by my radar.) There is still much work to be done before those couples can retain their legal status and realize their rights as a married couple in their home states, but this is an important step, because it allows them to obtain the legal status/right of marriage to then argue for realization of back at home. Incremental positive change is still positive change!

One of my law school classmates is getting married to his male partner in Massachusetts this fall.  They are both Massachusetts residents.  I am so happy for them!
