Sad news from Baghdad

This is a powerful Washington Post story on a Baghdad bookseller who was killed recently when a bomb destroyed his bookstore.  It is so sad how little normal life is able to occur in this war zone.  More than just bodies and buildings are being destroyed, but also crucial cultural and intellectual institutions and resources -- the very kind that are so essential for leading a society out of violence and into peace and stability.
