Personality: Jo is a very determined and head strong young woman. When she sets her mind to doing something, that is just what she does regardless of who may protest her actions. She is also quite adept at trying to prove that she is just as tough as anyone and she doesn't need coddling, which has been a source of her mothers woes in the past and thus root for the two Roadhouse ladies arguing. Jo is not unknown for her witty banter or snide remarks in some situations either. She grew up in the Roadhouse with a bunch of hunters coming and going all the time, she learned early on how to hold her own. This also gave her the stones to not be afraid to tell anyone about them selves in graphic detail should she get riled up enough. Though she is not with out a softer and more understanding side too, even if she is awkward to let it show to many people.
She is brave and loyal a woman who definitely knows what she wants and how she is going to go about getting it too. She is a tomboy through and through, not too good to enjoy a beer with the guys. Yet, at the same time she is most certainly a female presence in a male dominated occupation. She is very driven by family, even if she knocks heads with her mom on things, and by family to her this includes the hunters that come and go from the Roadhouse, many of which were her teachers and mentors in hunting, and the skills one would need to be one. Much to her mom's chagrin.
Jo is a pretty stubborn young woman, she made up her mind she wanted to become a hunter as a means of being closer to her father who had died when she was a kid. (And whom she idolized I might add) She followed that path, spreading her wings to prove that she could do it, and no one was going to stop her and she would go around or through anyone who tried.
As for relationships, she prefers meaningful ones to shallow ones, growing up with people in the line of work that they were in, she learned that having friends was rare, having family even more rare. Romanticly she can be summed up with ' Don't feed me no lines and keep your hands to your self.' The way to her heart is for sure not pizza and a six pack. She has too much self respect for that mess.
Skills/Abilities: Jo's skills include being pretty proficient with a shot gun, knowledge of the supernatural and how to handle most of it, being pretty skilled with knives as weapons. She was trained in hand to hand fighting and is not too shabby with defending her self using it.( Ask Dean Winchester about her right hook :3 ) Jo's weaknesses are the people she cares for, and the fact that she doesn't always look before she leaps. Even if her heart is in the right place it can get her into some tight spots. Her stubborn 'I don't need no help I can do it myself ' attitude can also be a weakness too. Her father's memory can be listed under both a strength and a weakness too. It's inspired her to become a strong and independent woman in order to survive in a field dominated mostly by men. It has also been a touchy subject for her and been the cause of her losing her cool when she needed to be more focused.
First Person Sample:
[ The sound of people yelling and carrying on was the first thing she heard. There was a groan from her as she shifted from the way too stiff single bed she had crashed in for the night, morning, whatever. She shifted her eyes to the wall where the sounds were coming from.]
“ Low budget motels gotta love em.”
[ She said irritably as she sat up and stretched, rolling her shoulder which she had slept on weird and had become stiff. Coffee then a phone call to see where her next job was to be. She didn't think she was doing too badly for being out on her own.]
Third Person Sample:
'Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.' that line playing from the jukebox stood out to Jo more so than music usually did coming from that old thing. She was sitting at the bar her elbow resting on the bar top and her chin in her hand, a 'someone please get me out of here' expression on her face. It had been a slow day and to be honest the blond was bored almost clear out of her gourd.
It had been months at least since she had heard anything from the Winchesters, not that that was anything unusual. She kind of wished that it was different though, she might be showing them boys a thing or two about how it's done right now, instead of sitting idle. She had no idea where her mother had gotten to, though Jo had no doubts she was gearing up for another round of treat Jo like a kid, in regards to the news that Jo planned on taking off later that night to find solo work.
Jo rolled her eyes at the thought, it would be so much easier if her mom would realize she was a grown woman, and she knew enough to handle her self. Even when she worked with the Winchesters and the follow up endless bitching from her mother about the methods that were used. Everyone came out just fine, and they had gotten rid of the problem too. None the less Ellen would be Ellen and Jo would be Jo. That's how it was and always would be.
The sound of the door opening caught her attention, a regular sitting down at the bar. Jo slid off the bar stool moving around to the other side of the bar. Thinking time was over, now it was back to work. “ The usual gut rot Eddy?” she asked picking up a mug, as the tired older hunter gave a nod to her.
