Bohemian Rhapsody
We did make it to Bohemian Rhapsody last night, and I'm so glad we did.
I LOVED IT!! I thought it was so well done, and so wonderful to watch. OMG, what a great movie.
I'm very pleased that it really WAS about the music as much as anything else. I mean, I'm glad we got Freddie's story, and the story of the band - and I knew we would. But I was always just a little concerned that the music would be the backdrop to the story, but they really truly did make it THE story for a lot of it. The studio scenes were just amazing and they gave us so much of that - not just little nods to it. It's astounding how creative they were.
I'm also thrilled that they went ahead and made the movie as long as they needed to to allow for that.
In the theatre, I was amazed - through most of the movie, it was dead silent in there. Certainly through any of the intense scenes, and pretty much through the entire second half of the movie. The only exception to that was the people next to us, who had a noisy candy bag, and were whispering and talking a fair bit - and when the guy started having conversation at regular room volume, my daughter smacked him down "Could you talk after the movie, please?" To their credit, they did shut up for the rest of it, which is how I know how damn silent it was.
