Xmas Preparations
Last night was rather productive in the domestic sense. I've been spending a lot of my free time getting ready for Saturday - we're having a holiday open house from like noon...for the rest of the day! (Anybody going to be in Wisconsin on Sat? Stop on by!) I'm really looking forward to it. We've done a LOT of work to our house and now I'm excited to show it off. (I also made this really cool face plate out of black foamcore and beer bottle caps to dress up the jukebox computer by the pool table - that room is finally taking shape and I think soon I'll have to show off some pics. We have a few ideas for some furniture changes, so I'll wait for that)
I made a double batch of homemade hummus (which smells incredible this morning), and a whole plate of pretty little rum balls. It was so satisfying to open my fridge this morning and see carefully wrapped plates of goodies that I MADE. Very cool.
I'm also going to be making spiced cider and glogg, and I might even show off a little of my spiced mead - tho that's something an acquired taste. I don't really expect the masses to be impressed.
Beyond that it's just hanging out, eating, dodging kids and dogs, listening to tunes and shooting pool. I can't wait! I just wish even MORE people could be there.
