I wasn't planning on going into London Film & Comic Con this year as I was mainly going to give
abby_i some memorabilia, but I thought I might go in to waste time before the Moon screening and Q&A later in Brixton!
The mighty Earls Court. They were hosting a roller derby event in the other halls, I wish I'd known about it, it would have been interesting to see!
I met up with Emma and gave her a bag of TT memorabilia, I showed her cool little bits I'd included and we went back in as she was going for a talk.
I didn't get any autos but caught a sneak peek of Edward Furlong, aw. I wandered around the stalls, taking a few photos of anything that caught my fancy.
Like these two hot guys selling their own comic. I especially liked the one on the left, haha.
Geeks are the best <3
The Marvel Zombies guy was there, signing and drawing pictures for people, he had some amazing artwork.
Hee, Abe the Alien.
I've got a little used to him now, it's still a bit disconcerting to see him walking up to you! I've been giggling at videos on youtube of him freaking people out and this BBC News video shows the man beneath the suit momentarily!

I'd promised myself I wouldn't spend any money but facing Mario's comics/graphic novels stall was a test of my willpower and I gave in and purchased the first House Of M which I believe
meivocis will be pleased about! I also got X Men Noir which looks interesting.
After a few hours at Earls Court, I made my way over to Brixton to The Ritzy which I'd never been to before. It's really nice!
I found out that the Q&A was sold out and witnessed the staff scrabbling over promotional MOON shirts which looked fantastic. I want one :( but how often would I really wear it? Had a quick drink in the cafe and picked up my ticket and some popcorn.
I was sitting in the front row to lipread the Q&A but I hadn't counted on how small the screening room would be! Ah, I think that actually explains the neckache I have this morning from craning up at the screen! It was still a fantastic film and I really enjoyed Sam Rockwell's performance. I think I'd like to see it again.
Duncan Jone's q&a was fab, he talked about meeting Sam Rockwell and they bonded over 'blue-collar' sci-fi and Duncan promised to write a project for Sam. 9 months later, the script was done and it took another 3 months for Sam to decide whether he wanted to do the film or not.
He talked about being a indie film, getting backing for it and how he doesn't want Sony showing clips on the internet as he fears it'll spoil plot points. He loved that Sony UK had held it back to release with the anniversary of the Moon missions! He spoke about screening the film at NASA and talking with an astronaut. Duncan said quite a lot about the film, it was really interesting to hear him talk about constrictions of low budget filmmaking and how he'd have done things differently, "crew shirts!" and things like that. He was really enjoyable to listen to.
Afterwards, he was talking with people in the foyer, so I approached him and said thanks for being so accessible to fans through email and twitter and we spoke about Shepperton Studios and how great Sam Rockwell is! He kindly signed a magazine page for me and posed for a photo, aw.
I really did enjoy the film, towards the end, it felt a little like something was missing to tie it all together but I want to watch it again. It's worth watching for Sam Rockwell's fantastic performance!
I look forward to seeing Duncan's future films and I feel that his dad's song, Kooks inspired by Duncan's birth, sums up his directorial debut from an audience point of view!
