I think one of the most scariest sentences to hear is, "don't you remember me?"
I really didn't recognise him (ffs, he was in the last year when I was in the first year) and then he proceeded to tell me all about how one of my favourite teachers killed himself and how some of the people I hung around with at school are gay in this sneering tone. Just... ugh. My opinion of him from all those years ago hasn't changed.
Apart from that, the library was a success, I got some great books out on the history of British film studios, a graphic novels and a few DVDs for the weekend.
On flipping through the studio books, I found and scanned some great pics for Kendra's Viv and Larry site. It got me in a books researching mood, and I've been tidying my room all week and sorting through my bookcase tonight, I found some goodies!
The first year I was at university, I went through a massive Philip Pullman phase (sigh, I still love my signed books) and ordered all these little books about His Dark Materials and things like that. One was a book from The National Theatre about staging the Philip Pullman trilogy as a play. I still wish I'd seen this, gah. Some friends of the family went to see it, I can't remember what they thought of it. Shall have to ask them about the six hour running time!
It starred Anna Maxwell Martin, Samuel Barnett, Dominic Cooper, Ben Wishaw and Russell Tovey! The book is great to read, all about how they tackled the books and the ideas of staging the different worlds, characters and effects, the daemons were puppets. It has lovely photos of the creative teams through rehearsals and everything.
I was going to scan these but the book is rather thin and so tightly bound, I don't want to damage it by pulling it apart to scan pages if photos are so close to the binding. I can do better photos tomorrow if people want any specific ones?
Am inexplicably not the greatest fan of Dominic Cooper, but my looooove for Tovey has increased tenfold and HELLO Wishaw, phwoar.
