Overall, I really liked this episode. I can’t believe what I’m about to say, but here goes: I like the Thirteen/Foreman storyline. I don’t know what happened, but I thought OW did a great job again and I like how the character is becoming less frozen - and we’ve been given insight into her mood swings and coldness of the past. Foreman is someone whom I’ve liked and disliked back and forth since the show began and now I’m in a stage of “like”.
I wasn’t very pleased about the House/Cuddy office antics because I think it was a bit too silly, but I still like the episode overall. I understand Cuddy wanting to be close to House to see if something more would happen, but the spilling on the desk, removing furniture, and breaking of the toilet? That said, the “Are you screwing with me?” conversation in the empty office was pretty charged, in a good way, and I think House acted…well…like House. He doesn’t want a relationship with her and that showed. I think he knows that she would want things he can’t give her, and I like that in the end House had Cuddy’s old desk put in her office (it’s way too nice a desk for most students to own, though). It seems that he decided he cares about her as a friend. I felt bad for her when she saw House with the “patient” in his office when she was on her way to see him, but it’s better she get hurt a little now than a lot later.
I know I missed a lot (I didn’t take notes this time - I decided to just watch) so I must watch again right now, but why did House ask Taub how he felt when he was philandering right after the House/Cuddy “Are you screwing with me?” scene? Philandering refers to having casual relations with numerous women and/or having an affair while committed to another. Was House feeling like *he* was philandering? And, if so, did he feel bad because he didn’t *want* to have a casual relationship with Cuddy but knew he wasn’t ready/capable of more? Or does he feel like he’s still committed to Stacy, at least in terms of his feelings, making him unable to pursue something with Cuddy? Or have I completely misunderstood that scene?
I LOVED that House set up Kutner and Taub with the “patient”! I didn’t see that coming; I never catch onto those things! I began to get suspicious when a nurse told Kutner and Taub the patient coded, but I *still* didn’t have the whole thing figured out. And House/Hugh was absolutely amazing when he came into the morgue angry at Kutner and Taub. In fact, I liked the dynamics between Taub and Kutner a lot throughout the whole episode. I still think this is the best show on television. :-)
