Watched the How I Met Your Mother finale this morning, and can I just say..
Yaaaay! That was a brilliant episode. Definitely one of the best of the series. I noticed people online moaning about the quality of the show recently - saying it's not as funny and has on a whole dipped a fair amount in quality.
I would like to respond...
Um... what? The series is as good as it's always been, if not better really. The only thing about it I would say is how very obviously pregnant Cobie and Alyson were by the end of the series (I think the finale must have been filmed a fair while ago), but then late pregnancy is very hard to hide, and they did it pretty well considering.
But yeah, why it's still awesome. Barney, for one. The whole Barney/Robin thing was amazing (and omfg, how much love for the scene in the hospital room in the finale? awesome) and done really well. I love that he's still the same character, but the longing looks and anger at her seeing other people was just so damn cute.
Anyway, yeah. It's awesome. Boo hiss to all you guys who disagree. You suck!
But yay finale! Yay Barney/Robin! And yay for getting that little bit closer to seeing the mother. I love how we're inching there bit by bit, but there's still plenty of story to be told. The writers all deserve a medal. And a cookie.
And last but not least, yay for the goat! Was so looking forward to seeing what happened with that, and I loved it. Ted getting beaten up by a female goat was just the best thing ever.
Yay for How I Met Your Mother! It's just the best show ever. <3 <3
I should probably carry on with my work now.
