Hhhmmmm....
So I was doing college stuff tonight and all of a sudden I realized that TITANIC was on and I went and watched it and it was just getting to the good part. And then the iceberg hit the ship and the water started coming in and it basically all went to hell.
But really, the movie raised a lot of interesting questions. The main one that came to my mind was:
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID???
Seriously...lets go out into the middle of the ocean on a boat. Yes, a BOAT. And lets not BRING ENOUGH LIFE BOATS FOR EVERYONE. Because hey, supposedly the boat's unsinkable, so we don't need precautions, right? It doesn't matter that the boat is made of IRON and other HEAVY THINGS which are prone to NOT FLOAT when placed in WATER. And then...when OMIGOD THE BOAT IS SINKING lets be really unorganized and send boats that can hold like 70 people out with only 12 PEOPLE. SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN TO ME. And hey, lets make all the third class people drown, because apparently POOR PEOPLE DON'T COUNT OR SOMETHING. Furthermore, once the boat has sunk and we're all out safely in the boats and we can hear people in the freezing cold water screaming for help, lets wait a while before we go back and help them! And lets send one boat, not the 20 that are out there!!! SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN TO ME. Except apparently it wasn't, because, well, 1500 PEOPLE DIED.
Anyways, I found myself getting REALLY ANGRY as the movie kept going because of the sheer stupidity of all the stupid people. But I wasn't even close to tears during the "oh man Jack is dead and I'll never let go Jack ever...plop" scene which pleasantly surprised me.
So anyways, that was my rant. I can't believe that I just spent THAT LONG ranting about Titanic. It's not even that good a movie....

PPS I forgot to mention that I only *allowed* myself to watch Titanic because today I FINALLY FINISHED FILLING OUT THE COMMON APPLICATION! Now all I have to do is fix my essay and I'm sort of done with one part of the application process! WOOHOOO!!
