The Post You've All Been Waiting For...

Aug 14, 2005 22:52

You wouldnt believe how many times I've sat down and tried to write this, but either got distracted, or the words werent coming out right. I'm beginning to find that words dont really cover everything I'm feeling or have felt. I take pictures everywhere I go, but still come back to realizing that the best pictures are in my head. I finally just decided to get it out so that you're all up to date on everything from the beginning of my August till now.

August starts with All-State. We all know I was totally apprehensive about it. When I got up to St Johns on Monday and got to my room, the honest to Pete first thing I thought was, "Well this is promising!" The dorms (St Patrick Hall, known as Pat, or St Bontiface, known as Bonnie) were all concrete, and really really friggin' hot. I mean honestly, I dont think it got below 80 degrees in there. EVER. I dont know how those poor guys do it during the school year... must be a dream during the winter, though!

However, All-State turned out to be very promising indeed. It all started when I walked up to Conrad while he was talking to a bunch of people. He introduced me, and that was the end of things. I stayed with that same bunch of freakin awesome people for the entire week... wow. They were all gems! It was a really cool because everybody was so talented (LoL Alex, why didnt you tell me you could actually sing?!)

We sang for more than 6 hours everyday, but my voice didnt really hurt. The choir I was in was awesome. I'm really not a fan of being in women's choirs, but this one was great. Our director, Mrs. Stolak, was the coolest director I've ever had! I sat next to awesome people... the entire Alto I section was pretty cool (OK, I admit it. The game is actually called I'VE Never... LoL!)

The food was awesome... good times in that caf (LoL to Lukie and Stevie and their brownie noises) We're such creatures of habit... sitting at that same freakin' table every single meal! LOL!

But the week was at its absolute best on Saturday. I was walking out of the abbey with Alex, harassing him for not telling me he could sing (haha!) and said "OK, now you have to help me find my boyfriend!" And Alex, being the good sport that he is, said "OK, whats he look like?" To which I replied "Well he's pretty tall, kinda shaggy dirty blonde-ish brown-ish hair, he said he'd be wearing his navy blue polo... and he's standing right there!"

Know those moments in the movies where the guy and girl spot each other from across a room? Thats what it was like. I ran up to Noah and gave him what I can honestly say is the best hug I've ever gotten. He met Alex and Luke, which was hilarious, then we all trekked back to the dorms to get our stuff... and me to change out of my dress (YUCK!) Long story short, Noah then came out for lunch with my family while his mom and sister went shopping. We both finished eating before the rest of my fam and went out to the van to let the puppy out and have a little bit of time to ourselves.

I realized that some of the best moments in life happen when you're not saying anything and when you're with someone you really wanna be with.

So thats mostly all the All-State stuff... I cant wait till February to see everybody, or see who all turns up at the State Fair if I decide to hit that up. Will have to talk to the rest of my posse and see if they're going to... also need to call M and/or Lukie and see what their plans are for Thursday.

In other news... well theres not much other news. Thursday I went shopping at MOA with Gretalynn, which was a lot of fun. It was nice to catch up with her and everything, and be able to seriously talk running with someobdy who actually gets it! Cant wait for running tomorrow... but at the same time I can. It means school is much closer to starting.

Apprehensions about school... theres another one for ya'll to ponder. We're gonna be seniors... can you believe it?

Oops, gonna post this so I can reboot... more in like 2 minutes. Swear.
