So my first love was chocolate. I have had some amount of chocolate every day of my life. It ends meals, it fills the gaps between meals, sometimes it IS a meal. A family legend even says that one of the first words I ever uttered as a toddler was a half-gibberish permutation of the word "Choc-nut".
Back in mid-January, I decided to see if I could live without chocolate. I swore-off completely. No chocolate syrup in my drinks, no Nutella on my toast, not a sliver of dark chocolate or a crumb of Chocnut. The target date of the end of my chocolate ban? Christmas for chocoholics - Valentine's Day. It's been an agonizing month and I'm happy to be down to my last 3 hours.
Light and sweet, dark and bitter, or just plain nutty - may all of you stuff yourselves with love and chocolate this Valentine's.
