I applied for this job today:
POSITION TITLE: PROGRAM PRESENTER, USS REQUIN
DEPARTMENT: HISTORIC EXHIBITS, CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Ahoy! USS Requin, Carnegie Science Center's World War II submarine, is seeking creative individuals to assist in part- time presentation and light maintenance of our submarine. Excellent communication skills and full mobility are required. An interest in history, restoration, and the science of submersibles preferred. Naval experience not required. Weekday, weekend and some evening availability needed.
This is totally up my alley. My area of study is American military history with an emphasis on World War II. I'd love to do this. This was the first time I ever used a cover letter and resume though. I felt very professional but it was hard. My ex, Danielle, who works at some company in Manhattan gave me pointers because she's good at this shit, but I was still very nervous. I just emailed it to them because the last day to apply is today (the 4th). I checked everything about 12 times but I'm still nervous that I fucked something up. I know I didn't, but we'll see. I hope my resume and cover letter are well written and intriguing. I'd at least like the opportunity for an interview so I know that I did a good job on my application.
