I'm not on twitter! D: If it's any consolation, I'm not sure anyone's noticed the post about the contest either. Too distracted by Cas in psych ward clothing~
See, I have been hearing talk to this costume, but no one on twitter has thought to SHARE THESE PICS. And I am at work and I try not to break my "Don't google Misha at work" rule before Thursday...
I WANT A FULL ON EMBRACE WHERE SAM IS JUST OVERWHELMED WITH HOW GLAD HE IS TO SEE CASTIEL ALIVE AND WELL, WITH THE MINDSET THAT AS LONG AS CASTIEL IS OKAY THEN HE AND DEAN ARE GOING TO BE OKAY. AND HE DOESN'T REALLY NOTICE THAT CASTIEL IS ALL AWKWARD ABOUT BEING HUGGED BY A STRANGER BECAUSE HE'S NEVER HUGGED CAS BEFORE, HAS NEVER SEEN CAS BE HUGGED, AND MAYBE THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS. BUT THEN SAM DRAWS BACK AND CASTIEL SMILES AWKWARDLY, EXPRESSING ONLY BLANK INCOMPREHENSION ON SAM'S ENTHUSIASTIC GREETING.
THEN AND ONLY THEN DOES SAM REALIZE THAT THIS MAN IS NOT CASTIEL AS HE SHOULD BE.
BUT THROUGH SOME PLOT THAT'S ESSENTIAL TO THE EPISODE, CASTIEL GETS HIS MEMORIES BACK AND SAM IS LIKE, "THERE YOU ARE." AND THEN YOU GET A REAL HUG AND CASTIEL RETURNS IT HAPPILY AND LIFE IS WONDERFUL AGAIN. YES.
I was with you right up until "and life is wonderful again", and then I realised that this is Show. When is this episode airing? I want a million Sassy fix-it fics.
There should just be a fix it thread, where someone nominates an episode, and then someone else writes a Sassy fix-it coda. Sure, a lot of recent ep fix-its would read: And then the door was kicked in. It was Cas, and he was looking BAMF, even without the trench coat. "Sam," Castiel said, "I love you and I have come to take you away from all of this. Also, I am not dead." And then they went to the beach and played skeeball and made out a whole bunch. The end.
At first, Sam thought he was imagining things -- that perhaps his longing was so great it had conjured up the image that was most comforting. It was Cas, shuffling through the hospital bustle and leaving behind wet streaks. Sam rubbed hard at his palm, wondering if Castiel would fracture and disappear into static, and followed him all the way to Bobby's room.
"Cas," he said, and Cas listed to the side before catching at Bobby's ankle. Beeps and alarms went off as Bobby jerked on the bed and suddenly went silent.
Cas was gone by the time Sam took his eyes off of Bobby's very aware face, but Sam had never felt safer.
Sam never told Dean about what he had seen, never spoke of it with Bobby (though he and the older hunter had shared knowing looks). But it happened sometimes, when Sam or someone he loved was close to death - wet footprints on the ground and that same unmistakable face.
"Cas," he said. Sam had taken a hard fall, was having trouble moving his leg. "Cas, don't go."
Castiel looked at Sam, tired and damp and ethereal. "I have much to atone for," he replied, putting his wet hands to Sam's thigh, healing the break.
Sam grabbed Castiel's wrist, was to relieved to find it solid under his grasp. "Don't go," he repeated. And Cas stayed.
