Since there was no episode discussion post already, I thought this episode merited one, with its important ~SASSY~ developments...
First off, how nice was this line? <333 (gif from Tumblr)
Look Dean, he’s our friend too, okay? and I’d die for him, I would, but- Look, I’m praying we’re wrong here.
Especially with Cas creeping in the background, lolol. Sam says it so matter-of-factly, like "DUH I'd die for mai bb!"
Then we have Dean saying that Sam would be the Lois Lane to Cas's Superman....he totally ships it too. I think this needs to be a tag...
And THEN of course the ~intense eyesexing exchange in the ring of fire when Cas says, "Sam, I'm the one who raised you from perdition!" (Take that Destiel, we got dis too! ;) Cas wanted to save Sammeh!). Of course Sam did not respond so nicely, but one can see why he was a bit upset about it all (like why Cas was ignoring his calls when he brought him back in the first place...and the little mishap with the soul thing....and not doing anything about it). I think it's obvious from the way it was presented at least that Cas did NOT intend for Sam to be soulless, the way he was all "oh well obviously I gotta raise Sam next! I'm so powerful, I can do it!" and then we see him checking up on Sam afterwards and beginning to realize his mistake--he said "that was my warning", and I think that he just felt guilty about his error and that's why he was ignoring Sam's calls during that year, and why he was acting off towards him, because he knew something was wrong already, that it wasn't HIS Sam.
This brings us to the most important question of all though: where on Sam is Cas's handprint? And why hasn't Sam mentioned it before? Because it is on an unmentionable part and he thought it was rugburn?
Oh and last week it was also nice to see them still sitting together at restaurants so they can hold hands under the table, and Sam still most concerned with Cas' feelings and whether or not they are hurt by Dean. I loved this week how he was all pouty going "WELL FINE WE ARE BUSY TOO, SO THERE CAS!" >:( before the demon attack when Cas wouldn't answer their calls. And even with him being suspicious of Cas from the beginning, it's obviously because he knows his bb so well that he could figure out something's up...:p
EDIT: Also now Sam and Cas could totally bond someday while having a heart-to-heart commiseration about how much it sucks to be led astray by a demon while having good intentions...
