I was so impressed with Sayid last week when Michael (I mean, Kevin) showed up. If it had been Jack or Kate there, they’d totally freak out, yell, Jack would cry boat!Jears and they’d blow his cover instantly. Sayid PWNED like everyone when he remained calm and played along. It was such a wonderful moment. So what was this week supposed to mean? I mean…. Yeah, I get that Sayid is pissed off at Michael for killing Ana Lucia (good riddance, I say) and Libby (I really liked her so I get that) and leading Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley into the trap…. But still. I think he’s made a gigantic mistake right now and that there will be some serious, serious consequences. In fact, it made me think back to the end of Economist, when it was revealed that Sayid’s working for Ben and Ben told him, “These people don't deserve our sympathies. Need I remind you what they did the last time you thought with your heart instead of your gun?” Maybe this had something to do with it? Sayid acted on an impulse (which I felt was slightly out of character but then again, no one can be consistent all the freaking time, right?) and I believe there will be consequences, because he might’ve just endangered everyone on the island. We’ll see how this plays out …. But I noticed that captain hotpants didn’t look all that surprised at all. I think that he’d known all along who Kevin Johnson really is.
BTW Desmond should sleep shirtless on the freighter. Or, like, naked. Please. PLEASE.
As far as Michael’s flashback goes… yeah, well, guilt is terrible to deal with, but it is a little weird that he blurted out to Walt what he had done. But I still believe Michael is a good person who made some really shitty choices. I’m not excusing him or anything because he really screwed up but I think there are definitely people there who are much worse, especially as far as the intent goes. I loved how they played the “island won’t let you kill yourself, you’ve got work to do”. It explains why Jack’s cousin Jebeddiah from the Amish country we saw in the S3 finale couldn’t jump from the bridge, why Locke couldn’t pull the trigger when he was shot by Ben and lying in the pit with all the skeletons of the people who died in the Purge… it just fits so well with the concept of fate LOST is so big on. I loved that. And Mr Friendly…. I’m sure there will be a couple of homophobes who will totally hate the fact that he had a boyfriend in the Penthouse and stuff but that’s got to be expected. I love the diversity and I love that he, Libby, Minkowski and Naomi re-appeared again. I’ve always liked Libby and even though Minkowski and Naomi were a part from the freighter team, I think not all of them have the same objective and that there are good people there, too.
One thing that’s fishy though, is the timeline. When Michael ended up in the hospital, they already had Christmas decorations up. I just checked with Lostpedia. There is only 20 days between Michael leaving the island and Naomi parachuting there. Which means that in the 20 days: Michael and Walt managed to get to New York, had fallen apart, Michael tried to kill himself in a car crash, recovered in the hospital, met Mr. Friendly, tried to kill himself once again, went back to Mr. Friendly, agreed to go on the freighter and got back to the island on the freighter. Um, REALLY? That just doesn’t add up. At all.
And we finally saw camp Locke in this episode - I missed you guys! I want to see more Claire, Sawyer, Hurley, Locke and Ben. Benry pwns as usual and while I was originally glad that Danielle agreed to make Alex safe (also, how fucking gorgeous is Alex? She’s absolutely stunning. I love her eyes, I love her hair, she’s so beautiful!) but there’s a part of me that hates that Ben just doesn’t give a fuck about the other people there. Then again, it wouldn’t be Ben if he’d just sent all of them there, would it? And as a character, it kinda makes me super-awesome.
Poor, poor Alex, though…. If Karl’s really dead (and he seems to be, I think Danielle’s wound is not lethal and they said there will be TWO people shot but ONE of them will die, so do NOT despair, Danielle fans - I’m looking at you,
iris-spiorad!), it’s going to be all even worse for her. I do think that these disgusting guys from the freighter, Keamy and Omar (right?) shot them, and it was that mission the doctor alluded to when he said that Frank had to go somewhere with the chopper.
How am I supposed to go through 5 weeks without LOST???? WAAAAH!!!!
