Hey everyone! You are reading this entry from an official Peace Corps Trainee. Yes, still not a Volunteer, but still one step closer and now officially a part of the US Government.  The last two days have been spent going over policies and logistics of services as well as icebreakers and other such activities. It has been a really great experience and it has finally allowed me to be excited about going to South Africa and making a difference.  I have met a lot of really awesome people as well - it's really refreshing to be in a room where, while you may not agree on everything, you know that everyone wants to help people, make a difference, and give back something to the world. I know that that sounds kind of cheesy, but really, it is something special. We leave for Jo-burg tomorrow at 6pm from JFK and get there about 18 or so hours later after a stop in Senegal.

Wow. It's really happening. I am going to Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know when I'll have the internet again or if I'll get cell phone access right away. Basically my phone card minutes will be precious and phones few and far between, so hopefully I can work something out.

I've always had people call me "Lizbeth" while here - I figure I can redefine myself in that aspect, just a little, maybe. I think it's time to embrace Lizbeth. ;)

Alright, well, I love and miss you all (especially you), please e-mail if you want and definitely write postcards/letters to the address below! I would love to get mail shortly after I arrive. Note: aerograms are the cheapest way to write!
