Ah, Poo Shoveling and Allergic Reactions... (probably to leeks)

Today Marty and I came to work, and went to the computers for our research hour. I read up on composting, because I knew that Billy was going to be showing us the composting systems today. He came in just as our hour was ending and asked us to sweep and mop the floors in the art gallery, the main entrance, and the bathrooms. We did that, and moved all of the tables into place for whatever meeting was taking place in there.

Billy gave us some stuff to read about composting, then we had lunch. Today it was lentil soup, which Marty and I found terribly amusing because we’ve been eating so much lentils lately. The soup was very, very good… while the lentils we’ve been eating at home have not been. Hm.

After that, Billy showed us the composting systems, and had us shovel poo for about an hour and a half. Goat poo. It actually wasn’t an unpleasant job, except for that fact that my toes were freezing and the poo was rock solid. So we went inside after about an hour and a half and asked if we were done, and Billy said that we’d done a lot, and if we didn’t want to do a job anymore, we could just stop. He said that we could just write our journals and go home.

So now I’m writing my work log. All’s well at SNAC, and all’s well in Winnipeg.

Tom spent last night in the hospital because he had an allergic reaction to something. We haven’t figured out what. Probably leeks. He’s back at the house now though, so it looks like he isn’t going to die. Pizza for supper tonight, and I’m looking forward to free time to read my book tonight. Maybe ‘Ley will pierce something on me.

I bought dread wax last weekend, and am just waiting until we have enough free time to do my hair. Yay!
