Merry Christmas... And a Quiz

Dec 23, 2005 23:24

Merry Christmas.

Today was my last day at Marymount. Ever. Am I sad? No. Hell no. That place is behind me. I showed up for Strings class, where the class sang "I'm 48" together. Lyrics and an explanation to follow. Then I went to Art class for about five minutes and we had a supply teacher, so Monika and I left the class all Mission Impossible style, and went to the music room to find her sisters and waste time. Sure enough, both Micheala and Marla were in the music room along with Karly practicing their folk music.

We stuck around there until the end of lunch, and Karly taught me to play the tin whistle. Then it was time to go to the annual MMA Christmas Pow Wow... I mean, (no)Talent Show. Which is less a showcase of talent and more a showcase of the Marymount girls' willingness to make total fools of themselves on stage. In the Christmas spirit. So the best performance (short of Michaela, Marla, and Karly folk music-ing) was Colleen playing the Imperial March on the kazoo. Honestly.

Anyway, about "I'm 48":

Mr. Van wrote this song about Michaela's future to the tune of Christmas in Killarney.

I'm 48, I live at home,
I have no job, and no place to go,
I want some juice,
And your spare change,
I think I just wet my pants.

I'm going to the corner,
To hang with Bob and Stu,
I'm going to mooch some cheesies,
'Cuz I've nothing much to do.

Oh, and a computer told me stuff about myself!
