(no subject)
Three hours and four huge garbage bags of Goodwill-bound clothes later, I have a bedroom floor again. You see every so often I get lazy, and don't bother putting clothes away. Then the laziness snowballs and before I know it our bedroom is a total mess. So today I buckled down to tackle the mess and got quite a lot done. I even found some things I had bagged to be given away back when I was thinner and they were too big... sad that I need them again, but good that I've got them. Now I don't need to buy a new winter black skirt. What I didn't find was the match to the single caramel-colored ankle boot that I'm missing. This vexes me, because they're the only winter shoes that work with my winter white paisley cords. I have no idea where that damn boot is and it's making me crazy.
But it's a big job done. I trashed a few pairs of jeans since I had way more than I need anymore and most of them don't fit me anymore anyway. And now I have a better idea of what I have, what I need to replace, etc. The rest of the week will be spent making sure the rest of the condo is in tip-top shape for rakin's arrival on Friday night. (Yay!)
The other big thing I got done was acquiring all the decorations for the GotM this weekend. celticangel424 helped me shop yesterday. We raided Target, Party City, Michael's, and TJ Maxx and got a lot of great stuff on the supercheap. I need to beg/borrow/steal some white Christmas lights, but other than that and a little crafty work I've got to do, we're all set and the event should look really great. I still need to try on my dress, too. I'm assuming it'll fit, since it was actually too big last time I wore it and I've put on weight since then. But I'd rather be sure than show up and have nothing to wear.
I feel like I got a lot done this weekend. I'm disappointed that I missed Jessica's party on LI, but poor Paul never would have made it (he's still coughing, but beginning to feel better). But I did get to see most of the CT crew at elxiii and malfactor's place Friday night, got lots of sleep, and was able to put the time to (mostly) good use. So it worked out OK.
