i heart london

so i figured it would be a good idea to update this thing before i go away again. london was absolutely incredible. heather and i went just the 2 of us, and it was a nice getaway from big groups and the guys (no that we dont love them!) i have dreamt about going there since i was a little girl and it fulfilled all my expectations. it was a busy, exctiting city with all the energy of nyc but a historical old vibe like all the other european cities i've visited. seeing the tourist cites on saturday like big ben and westminster abby and the tower of london was great. the people were also soooo nice! plus it was just great to hear english again....good english with adorable accents! people literally would just strike up conversations with us and be genuinely curious about what we thought of the country and our travels and stuff. we also saw a fabulous play that night, "a life in the theater" starring patrick stewart (star trek, x-men) and joshua jackson (dawsons creek). the show was really cool and after the show we met the stars and got autographs. i actually had a conversation with joshua jackson while he was signing autographs and he was really nice. after the show we went to a really chill bar and met some absolutely adorable australian guys (australians are the greatest people on the planet i swear). sunday we went to buckingham palace and i sadly did not spot wills or harry but i am expecting that one of them saw me from afar and will be seeking me out soon to propose marriage. i'll have to think about it since im currently a little preoccupied with someone else ;) in any case, after walking around quite a bit and finding a guard to make faces at and take pictures with, heather and i headed out to notting hill, which honestly reminded me of cambridge. it was a great section of town and i really enjoyed all the little vintage shops. when we got back into the city we decided to kill time until we had to head to the airport by getting all the use we could out of our transport day passes and ride double decker buses for hours. it was pre-paid, relaxing, and we saw a whole lot of the city we never would have seen otherwise. i would highly reccomend it to anyone who goes. all in all it was the best weekend i've had in europe yet and i am determined to return someday when i have more money to spend and the exchange rate hopefully improves. off to ireland this weekend! cant wait!
