What a start to 2013!
I told myself that I was going to do one epic summary post of 2012 but procrastination won in that battle against my willpower. Moreover, I was in Edinburgh for New Year's with my flatmate Weng Yee for the Edinburgh Hogmanay Festival which was a lot of fun (torchlight procession just for the experience, doing the Keilidh which is a Scottish traditional dance, counting down, doing touristy things, conquering the climb up to Arthur's Seat which has got to be the most physical I've done in 2012, lol!)
Ever since getting back to Manchester on the 2nd, and pushing myself and having my mom say to me 'suffer now, enjoy later', I decided to get my act together for my exams starting on 14th. It was not till after the random, completely unplanned for nap I took after mass last Sunday 7th, did I 'wake up' and spent the night from 10.30pm to 6am in the library. One great thing about exam periods would be the library being open 24/7. That's exactly what I've been doing the past five nights basically, getting home at 7am and waking up at 4-5pm, get to the library at 10.30pm ish work till 6am, head to Macs for £3.29 Sausage & Egg McMuffin breakfast meal and home at 7am, cycle repeats. Oh btw, Macs in the UK, do not serve pancakes. That's half of the motivation gone. Even still, I would say something has been driving me the past few nights.
Now that my exam is in a couple of days, I've got to switch my body clock back and right now, I'm typing this entry being awake for 23 1/2 hours now. I'm almost dying to be honest. I really want to cram some studying in now (like I said, the momentum's still there) but the original plan was to sleep at 9-10pm but I honestly doubt I can carry on like this any longer.
I shall now go on to do manual tasks which don't require any brain activity and craaaaaaash real bad. To think this is how I'm spending January.
Well, here's something that happened this week that is quite amusing:
We had a 'spot check' on our apartment to make sure every thing's working fine. The guy opened our store room door and said 'This, has got to be THE TIDIEST store room I've ever seen.' Both Weng Yee and I burst out laughing knowing that is the work of people with minor case of OCD. Before the guy left, he said 'I'm done here. You two can come along and look at other apartments... *mumble/speaking real fast*' Considering I was woken up (this was at 2pm, lol) just for the spot check and he was mumbling, both of us were sooo confused and it was clear from our facial expressions. And he had to explain 'I meant, you two can come along with me to see other apartments and you two can teach others how to keep their store room tidy.' Hahahaha. Well, it doesn't sound as funny now that I'm typing it out but well, it was funny there and then and we both LOL.
So, life isn't all that bad now to be honest! I'm quite enjoying myself even though all I really am doing is slogging it out as a student. Can't wait to get the exams out of the way, and read non-law books and do covers (of which I have so many ideas/covers I'd like to do) and possibly write songs!
