I’ve got some good news. A lady from the county called me this afternoon. She said she thinks I will qualify for that waiver program and I will be able to get the modifications done to my van! They still have to come out and visit for about an hour. It sounds good though. The only thing is you can’t have your Home Care Services through medical assistance. So the county pays for your help for a month while your van gets modified and then they put you right back on MA. It sounds like that’s going to work out fine then. I’m sure I’ll find out all the details when they do the home visit. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much just in case it doesn’t work out. It sounds like a done deal but you know how that goes. I’m cautiously optimistic though. So keep your fingers crossed for me! I also start physical therapy in a couple weeks. So that will be good. If everything goes well I might have my van ready by summer and I can go back to the gym and get back in shape. I also want to have some fun and do some traveling. So I’m hoping this will all work out.
