Things have been going pretty well lately. I got a letter in the mail today saying that I met the criteria to have my student loan discharged. It still has to be approved by the loan discharge department but more than likely it’s going to happen. So I’m really happy about that. I’m still looking for a van. I’ve decided I’m going to get a dodge caravan. I’ll probably go with 2003 or 2004. I don’t want anything with over 50,000 miles on it. I’m going to call the dodge dealership tomorrow and talk to a salesman. The van I wanted was no longer available but I’m going to have them call me when something similar becomes available.

I talked to my dad’s girlfriend last night. She’s good with animals (dogs especially) and she wants to train a service dog for me. I think it’s a really neat idea. So we’re looking into it. It doesn’t sound like the dog needs any certification or anything from what I’ve been reading. It sounds like if the dog can perform three tasks for the disabled person they are considered a service dog. I’m sure there’s more to it than that but it doesn’t sound like a need any special papers or have to go through an organization like canine companions. If it works out it would be really cool. If it doesn’t, I’m going to get a service dog anyway. It will just take longer and be way more expensive. I’ve always wanted a dog and with my back the way it is now I think a service dog is the way to go.

We are supposed to get a major snowstorm late tonight all the way through Friday. There’s a good chance I’m going to be spending at least one night up in my chair. I’m fine with that. It’s way better than being stuck in bed without food or water. One of the guys from the Home Care office volunteered to go pick up my PCA and drive them here in the morning if they can’t make it by themselves. That’s awesome. However, there is a chance someone might not be able to get here in the evening tomorrow. That’s OK though. I can nap in my chair a little. So it will be OK.

I’ve been feeling better lately. My gallbladder seems to be normal and I haven’t had any problems for the last couple weeks. So hopefully whatever was making me sick is gone. However, they said even though the test came back as normal I could still have a problem with it. So the Dr. told me to go down to the ER right away if it happens again. I’m feeling fine now though so hopefully I’ll stay that way for a while :-).

I also bought a domain name. I am now the proud owner of disabledandfit.com. I haven’t done much with it yet but it will be a fun project.

I guess that’s all for now. I hope everyone is doing great! If you happen to be in the area affected by the storm be careful and stay warm.
