Butterfly Prototypes

I’ve been asked a couple of times by a loyal customer (thank you, Karen) if i can make butterflies or dragonflies like i do my nylon flowers. In an attempt to keep her happy and interested, I tried my hand at making some. I started with butterflies because I figured their shorter wings would be easier to work with in the prototype stage.
I am not pleased with the results. They don’t have the ‘finished’ feel the flowers do. They feel clunky and forced and ragged to me. I’ve been mulling them around in my brain since I started trying, and I am having trouble coming up with ideas to fix these problems. I may have to stick to flowers. /sigh/
