Together, we'll write our own ending.
The applause of the audience boomed and echoed off of the walls of the concert hall as Ruki approached the front of the stage, contact covered eyes moving over the crowd of unnamed strangers, their faces veiled by darkness. The noise of the audience soon died down, a false silence filling the space in it's place. Shoes hitting the ground and moving across the waxed wooden floor could be heard as he turned away from the crowd, coming to a halt before a polished black piano. He paused then, only for a moment, to slide his hand into his coat pocket, slender fingers grasping a small white cellphone, hitting the one key before he pressed talk as he set it down atop of the wooden headboard. Ruki placed himself at the edge of the bench, his hands coming up to rest upon the stark white keys, pale fingers clashing against the ivory of the keys. The faint click of someone picking up the phone was heard only by him, although no voice responded or answered to the silence from his end. It was then that he began playing, the tender sound of the instrument filling the room.
I want to be that angel you love inside the fairytale.
The serene sound of the piano filled the small space of the overcrowded apartment room, his back nearly touching the couch where his lover resided; his form stretched out across the couch with his hand in air, moving from each side to the beat of the music, only stopping when Ruki had messed up or missed a note, struggling to play on after that point. The blonde swung his legs up and over the side of the couch, standing behind the other as nimble fingers glided over the keys, searching for the appropriate note that would make the song continue onward, a smile gracing his features as he played a pretty pattern. He let himself fall back onto the couch, watching Ruki as he began playing the notes that Hizaki had just picked out, leaning back onto the arm rest as he returned his hand to the air, moving it from each side once more.
Believe that we can be like that in the fairytale; prosperity and happiness in the ending.
"Help me move~!" Hizaki said suddenly with a laugh, bouncing up from his place on the couch. He leaned forward, placing his hands on his knees, peering into Ruki's face, his usual smile spread across his face. The other merely stared back, not able to find the appropriate words to respond with simply by having the other's face so close to his own. He was only able to nod carefully, his hands moving to roll his sleeves up. Hizaki's smile only widened, humming in satisfaction at Ruki's wordless answer as he moved to sit back on the couch again.
I've thought for a long time... I start to panic; have I done something wrong?
Blonde hair whipped around his face, seated on his beloved couch in the back of a pickup truck; something that was normally not advisable. A laugh escaped from him, stolen and hidden away by the sound of the wind ripping around him, carefully hopping up off of the couch to stand, his hands gripping the roof of the car as they sped down the highway, Hizaki's possessions, along with himself, in in the back of the truck. Ruki hadn't known that he was standing, and if he had, he certainly would have been scolded for doing something that could harm his safety. Hizaki turned his head to look around, pushing the faux-blonde hair that threatened to obstruct his vision out of the way, watching various cars go by, his smile remaining on his face the entire way.
I can't possibly be your prince.
"Okay!" Hizaki cheered as the couple finally got his couch into the room, setting it down against the wall. The smaller blonde was limping slightly, a sharp pain shooting up from his left leg every time he took a step, trying to cover it up with him skipping as they moved everything into the new room. He tried not to let the pain contort his face, a sigh leaving his throat in relief as the couch was set down, moving around to plop down atop of it, his chest heaving. Ruki moved around to sit beside him, not quite out of breath like Hizaki was, but his breathing had indeed become labored. He turned his head to look at the breathless male beside him, studying his body for a few moments before Hizaki himself turned his head to look at him questioningly, following the other's gaze to look back down at his chest. The taller male looked away, staring at their handiwork for the time being while Hizaki leaned his head back against the backboard, closing his eyes and let out a deep breath, honestly enjoying the place they were at right now.
I will be that angel you love inside your fairytale.
Muffled sobs left Hizaki, his face covered by his hands, leaning back onto the couch with Ruki beside him. The two had agreed to watching a movie, but what the effeminate male hadn't been expecting was that he'd be crying. "How can there be such a thing?" He murmured between sobs, watching as the protagonist finally broke down, falling to the ground in tears as their loved one was pronounced dead. To Hizaki, this was the worst possible thing on earth; losing the one that you loved. Ruki stared at Hizaki as the other leaned his head on his shoulder, the tears still flowing from his eyes as the movie continued forward.
"Why!?" the actor screamed, tears flowing from her cheeks as the movie came to a close. Hizaki, at this point, had calmed down, small sniffles leaving from him as he continued to pay attention to the movie, unlike Ruki. Noting the silence the ensued from the other, he looked up at him, staring for a few moments before finally speaking up. "What are you staring at?" He questioned, his eyes studying the other in search of an answer.
Silence.
Hizaki leaned forward, allowing his arm to slide around Ruki's neck as he placed a kiss to the others lips, Ruki immediately pressing back, caressing the small blonde's lips with his own. His arms slid around Hizaki's waist, pulling the other closer to his body, sliding the smaller blonde into his lap. Hizaki pulled away for a small breath of air, his eyes half lidded, a smile shining over his features as he saw what looked like a trickle of blood coming from Ruki's nose. "Silly..." He murmured, glancing back to where the abandoned box of tissues laid, taking one and gently dabbed at it. Ruki stared at Hizaki the entire time, blood pooling out from the others nose. It was a wonder that the blonde hadn't realized that it wasn't Ruki, but himself who was suffering from the blood loss.
Spread up my hands, become the wings to protect you.
The blonde sat patiently in a stool as the doctor proceeded to press the stethoscope against his back, listening to his heartbeat. Hizaki quite honestly didn't know what was wrong with himself, but Ruki had asked him to go to the doctor and he was more than willing to comply. Especially with the way that Ruki looked at him; a worry line creasing his brows as he asked. Ruki probably didn't even know that it was there. Moments passed by as he sat there before the doctor finally pulled the cold metal away from his back. Hizaki looked back at him; the doctor hadn't said anything since the start of the examination, and it quite honestly worried him. "We'll send the blood test results by next Monday." The doctor said, finally standing up, moving the stethoscope to rest around his neck. Hizaki nodded, getting up, his hands automatically moving to brush off his dress. Ruki took Hizaki's hand as he turned to leave, smiling at him gently. "I've got a surprise for you." He murmured, pressing a tender kiss to Hizaki's temple, earning a nod and a giggle from the other.
The couple made their way down to the street, Ruki having covered Hizaki's eyes half way down. "Don't look." He said, smiling as Hizaki protested for a few moments, but brought his hands up to rest atop of Ruki's. "I won't." the smaller blonde huffed, letting himself be led around blindly. Ruki opened up the back door to a concert hall, guiding his lover inside, stopping before the polished wooden piano which was the highlight of the entire stage. "Open your eyes." He whispered, removing his hands from under Hizaki's, letting them come to rest upon his shoulders. Hizaki peeked out from behind his own hands, a gasp leaving from him as he looked to Ruki excitedly, his hands dropping down to his sides. "Ru... You did it?"
He didn't answer, smiling at the blonde, laying a small kiss on his cheek as he closed the distance from himself to the piano bench. Ruki placed himself at the edge of the bench, his hands coming up to rest upon the stark white keys, pale fingers clashing against the ivory keys. He paused only a moment, his fingers pressing down on the instrument as the delicate sound of the piano filled the empty hall, nimble fingers gliding over the keys, playing the song that the couple had worked on for the past few months. Hizaki's face still retained his smile, though it soon faded as he felt darkness close in around him, his eyes falling shut as his body lost balance, tipping backwards.
The sound of Hizaki's body hitting the floor tore Ruki away from the piano, hands stopping all movements as he shoved away from it, immediately going to Hizaki's side, his hand coming to rest upon his cheek before drifting down to his neck, checking for a pulse. The worst of all thoughts flooded to his mind, scooping his love up into his arms and bolted from the room as soon as he was secure within his grip, scrambling out to the streets, looking around frantically for a taxi to get them to the nearest hospital.
"Will you... remember me?" Hizaki breathed, his eyes shut, head leaned against Ruki's chest. "Will you remember me for a long time...?" He asked, barely conscious, looking up at the other, a weak smile spreading across his features for a few moments before holding his face like that for a few seconds became too much for him, his eyes falling shut as his facial features relaxed, his breathing becoming shaky. "When you think of me..." He whispered, having to stop to catch his breath before continuing,
"Be happy."
You said to me with full of tears, inside the fairytale are all lies.
Safely tucked under the covers of the hospital bed, Hizaki stared at the ceiling for the time being, an oxygen mask strapped to his face to help him breathe better. Ruki stood in the other room, talking with the doctor who had seen him earlier that day in the emergency room. It was only a few moments more that Hizaki laid there alone, his eyes drifting from the stark white ceiling to the door as soon as he heard the sound of footsteps approaching and the turning of the door knob, a smile coming over his face as he saw Ruki enter the room, although it was hidden by the oxygen mask. He stretched his hand out for the other, as best as he could, considering how weak he was, simply looking up at Ruki when the other had come over and taken his own hand, squeezing it gently. Hizaki nudged his head upwards gently, trying to signal that he had something that he wanted to say. Ruki paused only for a moment before he leaned in, the small blonde turning his head so that he could whisper something into his ear.
"I want... to hear... you... play.." he whispered, his eyes pleading. Ruki pulled away, looking at Hizaki before he nodded, glancing over at the bedside table and picked up the off white phone, grasping the cross-dressing male's hands gently, tucking it into his palm. The blonde remained silent the entire time, the only sound in the room was the rustling of clothes his own labored breathing.
Since I've never again listened to you telling your beloved fairytale.
His fingers moved gracefully over the keys, keeping the rhythm of the song as he continued to sing on, glancing at the phone every so often as he heard breaths into the phone, breaths that only he was able to hear. Hizaki was on the receiving end, the cellphone that he had requested earlier that day while Ruki was by his side was pressed against his ear, listening to the music as it went on. A tear slipped out of his eye, sliding down the side of his face, just knowing that his death was approaching. Just as the song came to a close, the music dying down and ending with Ruki's voice, Hizaki let his eyes fall closed, his grip on the cellphone loosening, allowing the darkness to overthrow his consciousness, even though he knew that he would never wake up again.
Let's write our ending together.
