This lesson introduced some new concepts and built on the previously learned ones.



Passing the maze by counting from 1 to 24:





Adding column and row numbers in a table; numerals and quantities.





Matching patterns:





We started working with sorting materials invented by Zoltán Pál Dienes, a Hungarian mathematician. These blocks are different from each other in color, shape, thickness and size.



First we sorted them by two features - shape and colour. For this we used overlapping sets - "Euler circles":



Then we sorted the shapes according to three features using three overlapping circles. The kids did very well!
