Sponsor me!

NaNoWriMo is now only days away, and for once, I'm going into it with a plot I'm actually excited about. I even have an ending! The characters aren't fleshed out yet, and there are several plot details I'll need to untangle as I go along, but it should still be very cool. It's going to be a horror story. I decided to try my hand at genre fiction, because I'm sick of writing character-based crap that never goes anywhere. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

On a related note, I was out with my parents tonight for my mum's birthday meal, and they expressed interest in sponsoring me for NaNoWriMo. So, for the first time ever, I've set up a sponsorship page on the site. I'm trying to raise $50 - a modest goal, but it's still five times what I've been able to donate to NaNo in the past. I think it's a really good cause, because as well as funding NaNo, the money goes towards their Young Writers Program. I've been reading some of the teaching materials on the YWP website, and I think it's a really good idea - certainly something I would really enjoy doing with a class. It helps young people to appreciate literature in a different way, as well as exercising their creativity. I wish it had existed when I was at school.

If anyone can afford to help me reach my goal, even if it's just a dollar, the link to my page is below:

Thank you!
