Protest and March Against the Passage of Question One

TONIGHT (Friday) - Meet in Congress Square in Portland, Maine at 5:30 p.m.
(Corners of Congress and High Streets, by the Eastland Hotel)

Members of the Greater Portland community are protesting the stripping of
rights, dignity, and relationships from the LGBT community with the repeal
of Maine's marriage law for same-sex couples.

Protesters are standing to say that this is not fair and that human beings
should not be treated this way. That life will not resume to normal, until
it may be normal for everyone. Protesters will be marching to stand up and
say that this is OUR civil rights movement and that we will not stop
fighting until all people are recognized as equal in the eyes of the law.

This is a venue to express disappointment, loss, anger, sadness over the
loss of basic civil rights for ALL Mainer's.

This will be a non-violent demonstration. Feel free to bring signs and other
materials. Dress warmly.
