Yesterday at the age of 78 died a great figure of Czech culture, Ladislav Smoljak. He was a great director, script writer and actor and I was lucky to see one of his last performances last month. I admit I cried when I had read it in the news yesterday. I noticed how worn out he looked on stage that day, but I never expected it to come so fast. His work will not be forgotten.
