(make that an End of the Year Thank You card)

something witty? something vulgar? intense? simple? well-wishing and that's it?

i'm working on the DHP holiday card (for our customers) and i'm kinda drawing a blank.

i don't like the front at all. it's not holidayish in any way, and it seems that the boobish reference is backwards. if I got it in the mail, I probably wouldn't turn it over to see the back.

hm... holiday-ish... i'll have to think on it. i don't mean consider what you said, i mean think about how to make something holiday-ish.

part of my motivation for resisting the holiday theme is that we have to print a huge minimum and i'd like to be able to use them for other purposes. of course, if you bought a book from us and, on receiving the card, wouldn't turn it over, that's no good. no good at all.

this is the copy on the inside, next to the "Dear..." :

We at Destructible Heart wanted to say thanks for a great year. Without your generous patronage, our poets would still be broke.

well, you said it was a holiday card. so i would assume that it had something to do with the holidays.

what is the purpose of the mailing?

i know, i phrased it poorly. it's more of a 'Year-End, thanks for being our customers' card.

making it versatile means not throwing away a ton of money with the unused cards after the holidays, is all. it's like the first of a series of limited-edition advertisements... sort of thing. that make sense?
