Thanks Laura for the interesting quiz.

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
Well, 15, if you count the handwriting stuff I did for Max Headroom. Other than that, Jesus, I have no idea. It was for Buffy and I just randomly got an idea while walking one day.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
Lordy, there's a long list on my AO3 page, but mainly King Arthur, Walking Dead, Revolution, The Musketeers, Daredevil, and XMen. Favorite? Always King Arthur.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
Inserts. Although some of my best (imho) writing comes from my version of King Arthur characters, which aren't really inserts but OC's.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Any kind of anything that includes angst and day in the life type shit.
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
Er...they're all King Arthur pieces, but I also really love the story I did for Yuletide that's Revolution fic and involved Bass Monroe and his journey between seasons one and two. King Arthur would be some version of Live By The Sword, and movie verse The Only One.
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
Anything early King Arthur or some of the old Buffy stuff. Because I have to hope my writing has gotten better and reading the older stuff makes me cringe.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
Whenever it hits, which lately isn't that often.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
songs, images, sentences that just appear, suggestions from friends...
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
Well, since it's old and I'm sure those who were going to read it have read it, killing off Arthur in The Only One. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in fiction, and it turned out rather well (to me).
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
I don't really write like that; I tend to just start writing and let it take me. I didn't know I was going to kill off both Arthur and Lancelot in The Only One, but it just worked that way. It was really sad to do it, but it worked the best for the story.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
Only if there are typos, or I called something the wrong name.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Oh, any version of Lancelot. Always. My own version is my favorite because he's mostly me, and 'easy' to get in his head. Not every time, but most of the time.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
Oh, whomever I don't know that well. Foggy in Daredevil is hard to pin down because he's so 'normal,' but I tend not to write for characters I don't love at least a bit.
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.
Most of my titles come from songs. Or did. Felt Like a Lifetime and The Only One were songs I love (by Better Than Ezra and Evanescence, respectively) that fit the storyline. Most of the stuff from Live By The Sword is from songs, and the series title just made sense when I wrote the original.
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
Depends on the 'verse. Most of the OC's I wrote are in King Arthur fiction, and the names just come from other books I've read (sorry, Lindsay Davis) or common names of the time.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
...Oh, I'll say Live By The Sword because that's my biggest story. I wrote the original for a challenge on my KA Yahoo forum that was basically "given no choice, would two knights actually fight to the death?" I have no memory of how I came up with the idea I did, but that's where it came from.
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
Lance smiled, the realest smile in his entire life. His eyes slid shut and he curled his scarred right hand up, hiding the marks left by his father, his other hand feeling the heart beat that meant everything that meant anything, all at once. He felt it and knew he was doing the right thing. Arthur would live, and be safe and free. His Arthur. His life, his love.
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Sure. I start things sometimes, and then either get too tired or worry about how it sounds. I've really slowed down on my writing in the past three years or so due to exhaustion, so I tend to write in fits and starts and most of those things get finished as they're short. But some stuff, yeah. I recently found a whole file of stuff I'd either written a long time ago or never finished. Working on one of those now.
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
Sure. Wait For Me, as I left Lancelot's fate unresolved in it.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Yes. I still dither back and forth about killing off both Arthur and Lancelot in Sword. It's rather hard to think about it ending differently, but some days I kind of wish I'd left Arthur alone. But it makes sense for the story.
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Oh, lots of them. Guede Mazaka, Amari Z, aforementioned romanticalgirl. All of these folks are wonderful at plotting and characterizations and I still go back and reread their stuff.
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
Jesus, any of my old things. Early Sword stuff, my first King Arthur fic, most of the Buffy.
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
I do better with silence, but I can also write in a coffee shop etc.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Fine. I've written mostly M/M for a long time, and use description when it's appropriate for the story. Or I just want to write smut. :)
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
Yes, killing Arthur off during The Only One.
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
Again, killing off Arthur in The Only One. I love him to bits and that story had been with me for a long time, and to see him go and leave Lancelot alone was heartbreaking and hard to do. But it worked for the plot even though I hated to do it.
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
NO. Just go with the flow. I hate outlining.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
That receiving concrit is not always easy. However, it can teach you a lot. Also, it can be just like writing your own fiction, just as hard, just as intense, and deserves just as much work.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Well, any King Arthur stuff as the fandom is so small. I selfishly wish people still liked Sword, as it will always been in my heart and I'll always write for it. I write it for me, really, but it helps to know someone else found it moving.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
I get kudos on a story I wrote in the XMen fandom called Nourish still that's about Erik Lensherr being 'touch starved,' and while I like it, the amount of response I got to it still blows my mind. It's about average in comparison with my other writing (I wrote it in 2011).
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
...anyone?
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
No, just OC's, or folks directly in the books/shows/movies.
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Someone wrote on a Daredevil fic I did: There are some writers on Ao3 that I just read their stuff and I'm like "UGH WHY HAVENT YOU WRITTEN A BOOK AND GOTTEN FAMOUS?!?" You are one of those writers.
amazing. :)
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
I can't remember really, but something along the lines of "I don't understand what's happening in the story." I've gotten concrit that might be considered "harsher," but it was helpful, so I don't count it.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
I sometimes talk about them, or used to, but not anymore.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
Lancelot's first day ever at the LA Police Academy. Arthur deals.
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
Zero Tolerance For Walkers, my personal favorite.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/13719999 38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
Anyone who'd be interested! I don't write well with others as I do things slowly, but I have before, and it was a fun if challenging process.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
third person most of the time. I've done a few first person fics, and maybe two second person.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
some do, yes. My parents, my best friends, a few people at work that don't care that I'm a nerd.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?
I like my OC's in Felt Like a Lifetime a lot.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/834902/chapters/1589638 42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
He Sells Sanctuary (a bastardization of the Cult song) written for story of the same name in the Sword 'verse. It fits the way Arthur thinks about Lance and how it's perhaps not Lance's normal intuition to think about others first, even though he loves Arthur more than anything.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
Not that they told me.
44) What is the last line you wrote?
“Come sit with me,” he waved as he walked back to his things and sat, and Arthur followed him after a moment and sat with him on the bench instead of across from him.
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Love of the characters, desire to spend time in their heads, desire to see a scene I've spent time with in my head come to life on the page.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
...readers?
47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about?
...and...?
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
HURT/COMFORT CAPSLOCK. so much love. Not so much a trope, but ... any kind of "Arthur gets hurt, Lancelot helps him," or vice versa.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
No. It's been too long. I'm sure it was a Buffy thing. Maybe something by Evil Little Dog?
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
ANGST ALL THE WAY CAPSLOCK AGAIN. I still love it. It pushes my buttons. It's "easy" to write based on the characters I love. The movies/shows I tend to gravitate toward feature either anti-heroes or something that makes you want to punch the character through a wall for their stupidity. Example: Arthur and Lancelot x 1,000,000.
