my family forgot about le pancake day.
that's the problem with growing up: your parents aren't as eager to make a big deal out of tiny holidays, or humour you with pancakes.
and dammit, i do love breakfast food.
everything fell out of the shelf of my bookcase the other night, like one big messy, paper-y protest. while putting the craziness back in its rightful place i came across my journal from last year (note: not the online sort). i had forgotten about its existence for the most part, and i started reading the stuff i had written this time last year. it's really...interesting. just to see how everything can change so drastically. i don't think i changed a whole lot, personally, but just my life in general...and my outlook, to a certain degree.
this is a good thing, seeing as how if you had told me this time last year i had to move a million miles from Halifax next week i would have said, "okay, cool". but this year has been good. hopefully not the type of good i'm going to spend all my time trying to recreate post-high school...more like the necessary type of good.
"kind of strange and pulled in all directions...but happy."
yes. i think that's a good way to sum up my life currently.
