Summary: Junho’s studying. Nichkhun wants to help. Junho’s stubborn. Nichkhun’s persuasive.
It was that time of year again. Their daily routine no longer consisted of simply waking up, eating, then heading off to either recording or practice. No, it was something much, much worse.

“A D! How in the world did I get a D!?” Junho glared at the paper in front of him.

“… That’s not good.” Chansung deemed simply as he looked over the other's shoulder. Junho simply turned his glare to the younger man to get him to shut up.

“What am I supposed to do? Hyung already said it’s time to get serious. He’s not going to be happy with the fact that I’m already failing Calculus.” He sighed sadly. All of this would be easier if only he had some company to share this sadness with. But no, his only company was the group maknae, and sadly, he was smart. So no company.

“Come on hyung, you’re smart in like, history and stuff. What’s so hard about math?”

“It’s numbers! And multiplying! And … stuff! I mean, really, what do we need this for? I mean, really?” Junho pouted as the duo slowly made their way around school, trying their best to ignore the mob of girls not so silently stalking them.

“Ya know, there’s always the tutor center.” Chansung innocently suggested, before Junho quickly covered his mouth and looked around him with alert eyes.

“I can’t. The moment I get there I’m going to get mobbed, and you know it.” As no fangirl seemed to fly out and ravage them yet, Junho assumed they were safe and they proceeded forward.

“Well hey hyung, maybe that’s what you need.” The younger chuckled as Junho gave him a look that said he simply did not enjoy his witty remarks.

“Thank you for worrying about my sexual needs but my studying needs is far greater than that right now.”

“…Hyung, that’s so sad.”

“Shut up.”

“But I mean, you’re always by yourself. Studying by yourself must not be healthy. And I mean, are you even reading the math book? Because I do remember that one time you were so tired you mistook the biology book for your homework. You failed that unit to-”

“Yeah, Chansung, I know. Thanks.” He deadpanned, making Chansung chuckle.

“I’m kidding. But seriously, hyung, I know you have that whole macho independence complex thing and all.”

“What are you-” Junho started but Chansung raised a finger to silence him.

“You need help. Admit it.” Junho grumbled something underneath his breath but it just made Chansung smile.

“I’ll ask Nichkhun hyung right now.” Chansung grinned widely as he took out his cell phone.

“Fine … wait-what!?”

--

“Knock, knock. Junho~ Guess who it is.” Nichkhun greeted cheerfully as a bespectacled Junho stared up from his desk.

“Hyung?” Junho questioned. Everyone knew not to disturb him when he was studying. He was tempted to ask him why he was here, but he soon got the answer.

“Calculus I see.” Nichkhun peered down at the large textbook in front of him. Junho had completely forgotten what occurred earlier that morning.

“Look hyung. I don’t know what Chansung told you but I’m fine doing this alone.” Junho stated simply as he returned to the work at hand.

“Ok, if you say so.” Nichkhun complied simply. Junho stared at him, wondering what was going on. His hyung never gave up this easy. Never.

“Ah.” And as Junho suspected, Nichkhun simply sprawled himself out on Junho’s bed instead of leaving. A flash of pale skin caught Junho’s eye as Nichkhun’s shirt rode up ever so slightly, but he quickly stared down at the book. After an hour, Junho couldn’t help but let his mind wander as his hyung lay perfectly still on the bed beside him.

“…What.” He asked with a sigh, finally turning to his hyung. Nichkhun simply moved into a comfortable position with his head placed on the palms of his hands.

“What do you mean what?” Nichkhun grinned, cocking his head to the side playfully.

“I mean, you’ve been staring at me the entire time you’ve been in here.”

“Oh, really?” Nichkhun feigned innocence. Junho’s stare was met with a grin that he knew he couldn’t compete with.

“Ya know what hyung? Just … never mind.” He sighed, returning back to glaring at the worksheet in front of him as Nichkhun’s grin grew wider.

“Junho.”

“What?” he asked mindlessly, still not looking up.

“You look cute with glasses.” And that got Junho to look up. He was not expecting that.

“Oh ... Um, … ok.” And with that, he returned to work. And that peace lasted for another 5 seconds, until …

“Ahem.” Nichkhun coughed rather inconspicuously.

“…Yes?” he sighed.

“…Nothing.” Nichkhun stated simply, in a way that Junho could just tell he was smiling. Another lapse of peace before …

“Ahem.” Nichkhun coughed again. And this time, Junho looked up to see Nichkhun’s face turned towards the light. While it was awkward, his head was bent at just the right angle to the light to catch his own glasses.

“… Hyung. If you’re waiting for a compliment, you’re not going to get one.” He stated simply, making Nichkhun pout at him.

“Why are you so mean to your hyung?” he whined. Junho tried to look at something else but Nichkhun’s incredibly large eyes made him crack a smile. And the moment he caught that smile, Nichkhun reverted back to his own smile before he finally got up off the bed.

“Scooch.” Nichkhun said simply as he pulled up a chair beside Junho. And with that, the tutoring lesson began.

“You take the variable right there. Using cross multiplication…” Nichkhun taught him everything. Going at a simple pace to slowly teach Junho everything he’s ever had questions on. However, Junho’s concentration wasn’t at its best. Actually, it was even worse than before when Nichkhun wasn't helping him. Every time Nichkhun’s lips moved, every time they locked eyes when Nichkhun was making sure if the younger was understanding, every time Nichkhun wrote something down with that sway of his wrist …

Junho’s pencil broke.

“Whoa, strong grip.” Nichkhun chuckled at the embarrassed look on Junho’s face.

“Here, take mine.” He suggested, handing his own pencil to Junho. And as he did so, their hands gently touched each other. He didn’t know why he was blushing, but Junho was very glad at the moment that the room was dark beyond that one desk lamp.

“So, umm, question 6?”

“Oh, that one. It’s easy, let me show you.” And instead of taking the pencil out of his hand like a normal person, Nichkhun simply stood up and got behind the sitting Junho. He pressed himself to Junho’s back as he took the younger one’s hands and simply wrote with the pencil still in Junho’s grip. And the tutoring session resumed. Junho didn’t want to admit it but listening to Nichkhun’s soothing voice and with his hand still underneath the other’s warm palm … he liked it.

“…Hyung?” he asked cautiously as they neared the end of the worksheet.

“Yea?”

“…Do you ever miss home?” he turned to him as Nichkhun met his gaze.

“Yea. Sometimes.” He answered after a short while as Junho simply nodded. Then with that, their conversations took on a whole new direction. They talked about everything from school to life itself, always making each other laugh with a smart comment here and there. Soon enough, Junho realized how much he didn’t know about the other. And he had a fun time learning it now. That was, until …

“Junho!” Chansung announced as he barged into the room, making Junho glare at him murderously, promising his death in the near future.

“It’s late. We have a test tomorrow morning.” And with that mischievous grin, he vanished as quickly as he had come, and so had the mood.

“Oh wow, it really is getting late.” Nichkhun said, checking the time. Junho nodded as he gazed at the finished worksheet. Nichkhun simply looked down at it with an accomplished grin.

“You surprised?”

“Psh ... Naw.”

“Oh really now?”

“Well maybe. Just a little.” He said proudly.

“So teacher, was I a good student?” he put on a faux seductive tone, making the other laugh.

“Yes, you were awesome.” He grinned as he headed towards the door. However, he stopped mid-step before he turned back.

“You have a test tomorrow right?” he asked with a quirked eyebrow.

“Uh, yeah. Why?”

“Well, tomorrow. Before you head off to school. Do want to come by my room for an extra study session? Like about, say, seven?”

“Sure, I’ll be there.” Junho himself couldn’t believe how calm he sounded. Because in his mind, he was busy trying to rid of all the growing thoughts on what he should do, wear or say tomorrow and focus on the conversation.

“And if you want, there could be more.” He said in the fake provocative tone Junho used before, except his seemed to be that much more … real. A tone that just made Junho continue staring at him.

“You should study your review worksheet tonight. Because, I’m going to give you a little test tomorrow. And for every question you get right, I have a little surprise for you. Make thing a bit more interesting, don’t you think?” he said. Junho would have taken it all in innocent stride, except for the fact that Nichkhun had just teasingly unbuttoned the top of his shirt.

“M-most definitely.” He gulped as Nichkhun switched to his innocent smile and headed for the door once again.

“H-hey hyung.” He called out, making Nichkhun turn back once more.

“…You look cute with glasses. Too. You look cute with glasses too.” He muttered shyly, looking down but still noticing the smile and wink that was sent his way. The moment the Thai man was out of his sight, Junho let go of a deep sigh he didn’t even realize he was holding. And with that, their entire conversation replayed in his mind.

“…Is it fucking seven yet?” Junho said to himself.

“Hey, how’s it going hyung? I heard a little role-play eh? Teacher? Student? Wah!” Chansung ducked the pillow thrown at him and quickly retreated.

“…And I heard fucking too-” and Chansung barely dodged the pencil aimed at him.

D.

“…A D. I got another D!?” Junho wailed as he looked at his test. Soon enough however, he didn’t seem all that disappointed.

“Dang, how’d you get that, glasses boy.” He said in a teasing tone as Junho just stared at him incredulously.

“What, do you just listen at my door all day?”

“Yes.” He answered simply, making the other sigh.

“But no, seriously, I thought you studied all night the material.” He questioned as Junho gave an uncharacteristic smirk.

“Oh, but I did.”

“…What?”

“What? You don’t listen to Nichkhun hyung’s door?” he said grinning widely, abandoning a jaw-dropped Chansung.

“…Wait. What! What do you mean!? SHOULD I HAVE!?” Chansung screamed as he ran after his hyung.

“Maybe when you’re older son.” Junho simply laid a hand on the other’s shoulder.

“You’re only a month older than me!”

“Yea, I know. I know.” He walked away, and Chansung would have been lying if he didn’t see the extra bounce in his step.

“…That doesn’t even make sense!”

“It doesn’t need to. Besides, since I oh so horribly failed this test, I guess I need to ask Nichkhun hyung for another study session.”

“…Hyung, you’re a slut.” Chansung waited for the usual rhetoric from Junho, but this time, all he got was a grin.
