you could. . invest in a motion camera. . or possibly stop making up crazy stories that freak you out. There was no indication from the evidence you stated that *gang* activity could possibly be related. Also absolute worst case scenario is that someone did get into the backyard. . and leave through the gate. . and not steal or break anything. wow. . the horror ( ... )

Perhaps. But better to be paranoid than wrong. sarx_phagos April 1 2011, 03:55:05 UTC
The thing about this crazy story is that once I thought that someone could have jumped the fence, the rest of the scenario fell into place. I don't doubt you doubt my story, but then again there were simply too many coincidences. There was the opened gate; the loose plank, and the full moon that night that would have enabled anyone to see where they were going.

I'm actually afraid of the idea of criminal activity happening on private property. What if there was no one running for his life, but instead there was just a regular trespasser? Wouldn't that scare you?

Yeah...

no. not unless they were peaking in my windows and or stealing/breaking things. yards are different than houses. and while it's perfectly possible someone did go through the yard (and I say that's not so scary or horrible) why jump to some wild "gang" theory? there was no evidence of anything besides possibly someone was through there.

and you still didn't say if you checked out whether there were other reasons for things to be moved?

It was really weird how I came up with that story. It just "feels right." It feels right to me that someone was running from a group of people, maybe possibly up to three, for his life. Why do I think that? I don't know...it just feels like that really happened.

As the pieces of the story assembled themselves, nothing seemed beyond impossible. I have a feeling that someone was running for his life from a small group of people. I have a feeling that he managed to evade his attackers by cutting through the neighbor's back yard and gate. There was more than enough ambient light from the near-full moon on that night.

The scenario feels like it happened. That is all I can say.

o.k. well, I'm all for the idea of intuition and similar feelings, but that still means that nothing bad happened in your yard. If you are convinced that the scenario you came up with is what happened, it sounds like the person in question used the yard to good effect, and didn't threaten you or the property in the least. so, sounds like a good thing he got away to me.
